This instructor gave an easy to follow overview of FBAR Issues. We must take into account that 2024 may have some differences such as maximum penalty. But this was a clear and concise presentation of the nuances regarding FBAR and Form 8938 Filings.

I found the personality style quadrant very helpful in understanding my need for flexibility and learning "how to read the room." Much more flexibility compared to Myers-Briggs. I particularly appreciated the instructor's perspectives on how we can adapt our behaviors to work effectively work with counterparts who demonstrate different styles.

I've been using pivot tables for years and still picked up a few helpful hints in this lesson. This is a very useful session for any user.

This course relates specifically to ASC 985-605 - the prior revenue recognition standard. ASC 606 fully supersedes ASC 605, meaning that no specific components or guidance from ASC 605 are applicable to ASC 606. Companies must use the five-step model in ASC 606 as the sole guidance for revenue recognition. This course should be relabeled to ASC 985-605 to prevent new accountants from learning the revenue recognition rules that no longer apply.

I hope this could be a recording course. It took me a white to read this material. It may be easier if the instructor can show us how the formula works.

Rob does an outstanding job of effectively teaching the Key Performance Indicators and KPI Dashboards. The course was well-structured, providing a comprehensive understanding of KPIs and their critical role in measuring and driving business performance. The content was insightful and easy to follow, with a perfect blend of theory and practical examples. The section on creating KPI dashboards was particularly valuable, offering hands-on guidance on designing and implementing effective dashboards that provide real-time insights into business performance. The instructor was knowledgeable and engaging, making complex concepts accessible and relevant. The interactive elements and practical exercises helped reinforce the learning and provided me with the confidence to apply these concepts to my own work. Overall, this course is a must for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of KPIs and enhance their ability to track and manage performance effectively. I highly recommend it!

What a fantastic course! This course was chock full of great tips and general ideas. Definitely a ton of "a ha" kind of moments and very helpful for those of us at the middle management level who would like to try to convince the Executive level that moving even at least to data mining would be helpful. Also, really appreciated the presenter's use of helpful visuals as well.

Mr McDonald moves at a fast pace; however, there are many individual skills apart from regressions I became more familiar with through this course. Specifically, I now understand IF statements and Is Number statements better.

User Image
stephen.rykwalder

Segregation of duties: one of my favorite topics in audit. This is definitely a much harder concept to implement in smaller companies where staff are limited.

User Image
thor.bendickson

Though the material in this course was well thought out and presented, I found it distasteful and unpatriotic to include a former president, not just as an example of an amoral/immoral leader, but also the answer to an exam question. Keep your politics out of my professional learning materials...

User Image
ricardo.de_alba

Excellent overview of the topic, with engaging examples and pulse checks. Wide range of subjects covered.

User Image
jeanette.rooneym_cpa_cgma

This is a good, quick refresher course to get your mind going during Covid isolation.

User Image
rindyp

Being able to do each section individually and review it before moving on to the next section. I also liked being able to run the entire course to refresh before taking the exam.

User Image

Excellent information in this course but your exam was so far off base and there is no way, even though you say there is, to review missed answers on the exam.

Explanation/presentation was very conversational and provided a lot of insight based on real experience with the legislation.

User Image
dopm83

Great course for being introduced to the Blockchain world

User Image
melissa_kronenberger

The course itself was fantastic. I would take pieces of it again as refreshers. Given the final exam is 160 questions, I would have been better suited to take the classes in two hour chunks with credit after each class. It was also incredibly frustrating to answer the same question numerous times in the final exam.

User Image
charles.koerber

User Image
josh.schmitt

The hands-on part of this module was effective, but the final exam had some grammatical errors that made it more esoteric than necessary.

User Image
tal.crook

I notice that most audits are not using this risk based auditing mentality, so learning about it now makes me want to find a way to implement it into my firm!

User Image

Great stuff as always, Michael. Thanks to Grant Thornton for making this available.

User Image
sally.schroeder

Seems silly to have an exam on this topic, probably because I watched the video after completing 10 Illumeo courses. :-)

User Image

The course is general enough for most audiences, but doesn't expand on topics enough for those who work in a cyber-related role.

The real life examples were helpful to walk through

User Image
rachel.janis

Gives you just enough information to be dangerous, but not enough to be reliable.

User Image
david.skipper

Great course, always insightful content. Learned a bunch of new regression material

User Image
ayman.anter

Many supporting materials didn't open. Many supporting materials didn't open.

User Image
philip.wilson

I do not think that this explained block chain well

User Image
mitchell.trenz

this was good. it seemed similar to the last course i took, but it was good to learn.

User Image
kate.eberle

This course provides a good general overview of how to structure data appropriately. The emphasis on financial ratios and metrics seems overly specific to one domain, but makes sense given the instructor's background.

User Image
mark.romanelli

The course had a large amount of overlap between the Data Collection and Cleaning course

User Image
james.kelley

I liked this course's description of BI tools like Tableau and data analytic tools like R.

User Image
apexa.mamtora

Liked the next steps section especially that concisely illustrates what is to come in analytics. Very straightforward course in general and easy to understand.

User Image

User Image
nicole.goodwin

Good review of strategic business partnerships that help prepare for change management projects.

User Image
christina.lanthier

Manipulating the data and walking through step by step is very helpful

User Image

this one, although hands on, was dry and difficult to hold my attention the entire time

User Image
noel.benton

This exam was more challenging than the others! Good to see.

User Image
nick.newhouse

It says that theory is easy but applying is hard. We are doing theory....

User Image
danielle.kintz

Very informational course. The mid-section can be a bit bland, but it's very useful knowledge.

User Image
abby.vogelsberg

This course provided great examples of data collection techniques.

User Image
michael.robertson

The speed of the presenter when talking was way too fast. We were learning about presenting to non financial managers and I could not keep up with the flow of information. Way too fast and way too much.

User Image

Pretty interesting, especially the stuff on benfords law

User Image
andrea.gawkins

Great final course to take that sums up data and analytics. good examples

User Image
tim.szlembarski

A little hard to follow if you have never done a regression analysis. Having an easy sample regression and walking through all the steps would help.

User Image
aaron.bartholomew

Although shorter and more applicable than the last course I completed (Business Intelligence), the case study seemed to be more a repeat of the slides, as opposed to a case study under the academic definition.

User Image
josh.kleiner

I felt the valid test data question was confusing, but other than that, it was a good course!

User Image
gianna.giannamore

Very in depth overview of TCJA. This really helped my understanding of which tax items have been modified or kept.

User Image
dylan.adams

I thought the review was thorough and introduced the site very well.

User Image

Exactly what I needed, added many of the missing pieces for me. I like the format, showing what to do then, doing it. My only gripe is that the exam has questions on charts when no charts were in the course material.
