Good course and review. A lot of information but good "broad" overview of materials.

User Image

Interesting course, especially for someone who has historically practiced in technical and non-operational areas of accounting.

User Image
mary.ventura

I really like the way this instructor presents the material in his courses. This course offers a fresh perspective of the emotions and thought processes that drive financial decision making. Highly recommend!

This was a great more in-depth course on this topic, explaining the FASB's rationale which is helpful in situations when the business or assets being acquired are less clear.

User Image
zachary.lockhart

Quality course from a quality instructor. Coverage was brief but satisfactory.

User Image
brian.wegman

More content than I was expecting. Went into some detail with how to calculate pricing. I will be taking the two other courses in this mini series.

User Image
xinlu.wen

The examples would be better if written out. It is hard to catch by just listening.

User Image
rene.galvan

Subject matter is very detail oriented. Instructor is reading her script, therefore it lacks engagement.

User Image
inna.shmukler

Informative course, very well organized and presented.

User Image
bryan.setz

A lot of the slides are read verbatim in this training which makes the slides as valuable as the presenter.

User Image
amber.deadrick

I've been using pivot tables for years and still picked up a few helpful hints in this lesson. This is a very useful session for any user.

Of the many, many courses I have taken on the Illumeo platform, this was definitely one of the best and most insightful. I have always found elements of "behavioral finance" to be fascinating and powerful in planning, strategy, and business performance. Mr. Stephens has bundled the leading theories and presented them as a unified new "dimension" for planners and leaders to factor in. He has done so in a manner that CFO's and other business leaders will undoubtedly find easy to digest, replete with useful examples. The consideration of these concepts will undoubtedly add value via improvement decision-making and more enlightened risk assessments. Thank you for such a quality contribution to the Illumeo portfolio!!

Rob does an outstanding job of effectively teaching the Key Performance Indicators and KPI Dashboards. The course was well-structured, providing a comprehensive understanding of KPIs and their critical role in measuring and driving business performance. The content was insightful and easy to follow, with a perfect blend of theory and practical examples. The section on creating KPI dashboards was particularly valuable, offering hands-on guidance on designing and implementing effective dashboards that provide real-time insights into business performance. The instructor was knowledgeable and engaging, making complex concepts accessible and relevant. The interactive elements and practical exercises helped reinforce the learning and provided me with the confidence to apply these concepts to my own work. Overall, this course is a must for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of KPIs and enhance their ability to track and manage performance effectively. I highly recommend it!

User Image
aaron.cooper

I don't know that I learned much new in this course; however, it was a good review of the basics.

User Image
andrew.futty

Good introduction to the investing segment of the treasury function.

User Image
sherry.gong

What I appreciated: The recap at the end is helpful to reinforce the most important concepts. The quizes are a nice touch because it tests your knowledge while you're watching the course. Areas of improvement: There is a lot of content in this short course, and it would be overwhelming for someone who has no experience in accounting. Additionally, I think it's much more helpful to learners to teach that Assets = Liabilities + Equity rather than Assets - Liabilities = Equity, so it reinforces the idea that Liabilities & Equity should have a credit balances. When going over the example for Lesson 2: Posting Entries (continued), it would be helpful to list the numbers we know before showing the correct entry.

User Image
jeremy.killmer

This was a great overview/introduction to Power Query. Users with no exposure to the process will not be overwhelmed. Good supporting materials, but it would be nice to have access to the source files to make the practice more realistic. Overall highly recommended, especially to beginners.

User Image
kim.hughes

In addition to macro recorder basics, I learned a couple of excel features! I appreciated the thorough explanations, common issues, and risks.

User Image

User Image
moataz.shokry

Thank you Garrett, that was really helpful, Good job, waiting for more of such useful courses from you.

User Image
sandy.timmons

course provides a basic overview of budget variance analysis

User Image
danielle.carr

Detailed and informative course with plenty of examples to illustrate application of laws into practice.

User Image
angela.schultz

Having 3 different people jumping back and forth caused a lot of confusion and the material seemed to have gaps. Specifically betwen slide 22 & 23. At the beginning of slide 23 she says thank you for all of that insight....what insight? I didn't hear any insight from slide 22 as it seemed they skipped over half of that slide. The presentation was very choppy. I ended up stopping the presentation and just thumbing through the slides to get a passing exam. There are other really great courses on AI within Illumeo to explore

User Image
rick.beutel

Very lovely class. I can use this and also apply the principles to helping my kids write.

User Image

This is, in no way, a 1.5 hour course if you are to attempt to "Learn by Doing" as instructed on slide 11.

User Image
laura.munson

David's courses are always great. Learned a great trick for getting the month number.

User Image
jared.watts

The information provided in this course was presented well and provided a good overall understanding of the planning process of an audit. However, the exam itself needs to be proofread as there were several questions that were written so poorly as to make no sense of the question being asked.

User Image

User Image
beverly.spath

User Image
kelly.sanders

Great general overview of the new standard. Very informative.

User Image
david.mctavish

Great, simplistic explanation of Blockchains and some of the ramifications, which could be enormous in how it revolutionizes the centralized banking and financial systems. More accounting and finance personnel need to understand Blockchain poses huge changes to the finance industry and at least have a basic understanding of how it works.

User Image
kerry.plemmons

Very good information given in this course, and given in a way that was very informative, not too wordy, and easy to understand.

I expected this class to be a basic balance sheet tour, but it was surprisingly refreshing. Great course. The instructor provided multiple real-world examples that were challenging and informative. I look forward to more courses from this instructor.

User Image
sherryhouse

questions at end didn't well match topics covered in the course.

User Image
thor.bendickson

Though the material in this course was well thought out and presented, I found it distasteful and unpatriotic to include a former president, not just as an example of an amoral/immoral leader, but also the answer to an exam question. Keep your politics out of my professional learning materials...

User Image
jacob.keiner

I really like this course and would recommend it to anyone who is stepping into or pursuing a leadership position.

User Image
derek.cam

Loved the examples shown for the several advanced chart types. The waterfall and combo chart have immediate applications to quarterly IS meetings.

User Image
william.christian

Great information! Blair does a great job keeping things entertaining, efficient, and engaging!

User Image
jesse.campbell

This course did a really nice job with individual case studies and footage of historical figures to illustrate the contrasts in leadership.

User Image
dianh.sarman-moschetti

Depending on the student's knowledge of Excel this may be a little basic. However, there are several little tricks to incorporate. This instructor performs a double presentation of the material, it is great if you are unfamiliar with what is being taught, it can be redundant if you are more knowledgeable about the subject; but as a general approach I feel it is helpful.

User Image
james.gately

This was a very confusing one. I finally passed when I answered one question which seemed again what the material and I understood. It was question six. I disagree that it should be answer A. A going concern is considered when a company has issues about going a year from the opinion letter date.

User Image
philip.wax

Extremely well-done presentation. Recommend learning a little about blockchain beforehand in order to get the most from this course.

User Image
ting_yun.ting-stoffregen

User Image
justin.upp

Felt like the guy was reading from a book and in the last section the slides didn't line up with what he was saying

User Image
sara.chapin

It had good information, it just wasn't well structured. I would also find it more beneficial to dive deeper into one or two examples rather than briefly go over several.

User Image
kevin_falini

I appreciate all of the practice. Lot's of problems help to develop proficiency at speed.

User Image
ethill

I found this second module to be more instructive/informational than the first with more actionable information.

User Image

This course was like listening to a very interesting podcast. The instructor was very engaging, interesting and offered a lot of insight that was not necessarily very obvious. I took this course because I need to fulfill my CPE credits, but I would have listened to this course in my free time regardless, as I found it to be very, very well done.

Great basic course to provide a basic understanding of business combinations under topic 805. Would be better if it was not a text based course but an instructor led program.

User Image

User Image
elizabeth.sahnas_1

Very thorough and easy to understand course and instructor. The use of examples was very helpful.

User Image

This instructor courses are always very helpful and are well thought out. I always look for her courses on-line as I always learn something new and interesting from her classes.

User Image
jessica.wood

Good layout to introduce the concept, but would prefer more examples and visuals.

User Image
bridget.alston

Good class overall. There are many complex topics covered in a short period of time, I had to watch a few of the topics several times to grasp concepts.

User Image
bethany.ferrell

Short and sweet. Speaker moved quickly enough to stay interesting, got a lot of information out in a short time, and covered some really solid points.

User Image
dhaval.kadakia

Very good refresher! Must take it every few years. Very good coverage.

User Image
jason.scott

It was thorough, though a little basic, at times. I appreciated starting with the FRED add-in - very helpful!

User Image
amy.reiff

Blair's courses are the best. Great pace and teaching style (not just reading from slides and providing relevant real-life examples), no time wasted on irrelevant information, and a fast honing in on the things that actually provide value. This is one of several courses that provides a solid overview of what CFOs should expect to contributed to their organizations.

User Image
melissa.conn

Very informative. Lots of good suggestions for company-wide engagement. Instructor presented material in easy-to-understand format with helpful examples.

User Image
john_p.stephens

This course was a good overview of recent changes and may lead you to take other more detailed courses that deal with one of the topics presented here.

User Image
charles.worden

could be the best course I've taken specific to my job

User Image
eric.cox

Recommended for anyone who needs a refresher on auditing or anyone who is about to go through an audit!

User Image
shollibone

It was a great course with a good overview of ERP implementation. However, it will be good to have some specific examples.

User Image
tangjun@google.com

I really like Jennifer's class that has detail contents in her presentation. The material is very helpful.

User Image
steven.meyers

Great course. Stated prerequisite requirements were appropriate and sufficient. Program materials were relevant and contributed to the achievement of the learning objectives.

User Image
jingyua@google.com

Course materials cover a lot of areas and are very practical. It could be even better if the course is in a video format. I will save the course materials and use them as refer or reference in the future.

User Image
stephanie.doenges

Good written material and fair questions on the exam.

User Image
eduardo.escobardelgado

The course overall is great! You even walk away with a few useful macros and definitely a better understanding of how to apply VBA to your everyday life.

User Image
greg.williams

Great tips for Excel! Instructor has a very energetic and entertaining style!

User Image
gregor_timothy.marcaida_1

An important aspect that companies forget to look at because cyber attacks are seldomly experienced by them. Great refresher on how to react to cyber attacks

User Image
bryan.hoffman

I enjoyed the format of the class. Would have liked to see more references to the actual rules of professional conduct

User Image
schreinermatt

Great course to obtain a base understanding of the statement of cashflow.

User Image
matthew.hafer

Interesting tips but unrelated in application of what they do.

User Image
samuel.narotsky

Very useful as a practical guide and as a historical perspective (I was very involved with SOX work from the beginning until 2011, when my employer got bought by a European company).

User Image
gregory.timms

needs a transcript of lectures. Test questions have no relation to final test.

User Image
molly.dawson

The course is designed well, and provides the user helpful information to improve their workflow.

User Image
jennifer.bor

well thought out and acceptable for cpe review purposes

User Image
shuting.he

I thought Ms.Shirley was not so exciting to tell us why is so important to learn payroll accounting well, I encouraged her to be louder in the course. I thought the test in the last session is not so relevant to payroll accounting, and I still do not what is the different between wage and salary?FICA and someother similar concepts, so next time pls tell us more knowledges about payroll accounting. Thanks for Ms. Shirley's great work.

User Image
jim.stanislav

Nice looking/professional presentation and materials.

User Image
christina.smith

I love Lynn Fountain's courses she does such a good job describing the topic in depth without being overwhelming and by keeping it interesting.

User Image
y_avazov

very good high level information for lending business details

User Image
patrick.mcfarlen

Good and thorough course on accounting, it is a very good basic accounting class and was hoping for more technical that was there.

User Image
yosman

Financial modeling in Excel is the process of building a financial model to represent a transaction, operation & financial information to analyze how a change in one variable can affect the final return so as to make a decision on one or more of the aforementioned financial transactions. This course was presented in way that is easy to follow with the help of provided Excel workbook

User Image
martin.smith

Great stuff that every financial person should understand.

User Image
paul.hayden

Very helpful to learn of the different styles and their characteristics

User Image
ted.feher

Very good basic course in modeling without getting too caught up in Excel functions and shortcuts or accounting jargon.

User Image
dan.dellitt

There were a ton of good tricks to use to make Excel more efficient. Some I knew and some I didn't, but I will certainly be incorporating these into my daily work to save time.

User Image
betty.parks

The answer spreadsheets were very helpful as a reference.

User Image
kyle.hilliard

Most engaging course I've taken on this site. Instructor does very well holding your attention and keeping it interesting.

User Image
lucy.kusewa

Comprehensive, informative and well delivered course.

User Image
ahampton_1

This course was informative and will be useful in my day to day work.

User Image
janinek

Good overview of financial forecasting methods. Would recommend for beginners.

User Image
rhenneberg

Sussman is excellent. He was one of my MBA professors so I was excited to see him on this platform. If he's teaching a class, you want to take it.

User Image
charles.elwis

After having been away from auditing for many years, this was an excellent refresher course.

User Image
chantell.haines_1

I really appreciate this course and its help in career growth and overall help in gaining knowledge in who we are, who we want to be and what our passions are.

User Image
pamela.blikstad

Challenging course; good presenter. Would be more helpful if there were extended periods of time to work through the examples.

User Image
tomas.aguado

This tutorial could have been much shorter and to the point.

User Image
vince.torchia

The course makes it seem like these changes would be simple when in reality this is a very high level overview.

User Image
vickie.jackson

Another excellent course by Jeff Lenning. So many helpful functions and tips. I just hope I can remember them all. I would have like to seen more examples.

User Image
kelly.eyster

This course is a great introduction for Macro novices like myself. Notes from this course will serve as valuable reference material as I move on to more Macro classes.

User Image
eric.ball

Many courses move too slowly, this one moves at a good speed. This works well for those who already have exposure to the underlying concepts, it ties them together to show how to build forecasting spreadsheets in a very time-efficient way. For newcomers, they may want to pause frequently.

User Image
brian.coughlin

Very insightful. I'll keep an eye out for her other content.

User Image
karin.williams

I would recommend this course for everyone. This is basic fundamental information that everyone should know.

User Image
sheilah.mcbrown

Helpful information on those pesky error messages that we tend to live with rather than fix.

User Image
grant.ostler_1

The first portion was really basic, but the last portion was very helpful.

User Image
justinesoares

Course was very helpful. Quiz questions were not as aligned to Payroll accounting as they could have been.

User Image
luke.etnier

very informational in a short amount of time. if you pause and work the examples with Blair, i think you can really learn a lot in a short amount of time.

User Image
cory.mcclain_1

This course provided a helpful overview of the importance of internal controls. It also provided reminders of how vital 'hotlines' are in detecting fraud.

User Image
john.russell

Good concepts, but he goes very fast when working in excel.

User Image
mike.barhydt

Once again a knowledge of the exam questions is dependent on the participants enrollment in other programs within this certification program. Useful information but not connection to final exam questions.

User Image
ramiro.campins

Great review of preparing indirect cash flow statement.

User Image
dan.villanueva

Up-to-date approach for CPE course mentioning about proper use of the title in social media. I also like the fact that this is not only focused to CPAs in public practice but to anybody who is maintaining the tile.

User Image
patricia.galletta

This course is too basic to take as CPE for a CPA. I would also suggest during the instruction to make the notes more formalized if you are going to teach how to prepare a financial statement.

User Image
duy.nguyen

This was well detailed while providing very efficient timely lessons of the general topic.

User Image
mwong

Overall great webinar. It would be helpful to reduce the number of abbreviations in the slides though.

User Image
marcostroff

Very comprehensive and clearly laid out. I especially liked examples provided, discussion of relevant cases, and displays/walkthroughs of standard clauses in insurance contracts.

User Image
drh105

Very nice - I like the course and the image of the flat file...as it is probably similar to what a lot of people are seeing.

User Image
jonathan.hinkley

Very thoughtful and articulate presentation of usable insights. The summary of a very difficult subject was well developed and the handouts are very useful.

User Image
quinn.bonta

Great test for practicing payroll accounting principles.

User Image
roger.luchtefeld

Course content was good and the materials provided were helpful.

User Image
dixie.gutwald

Good overall intro to power query. But the VBA portion was just copying existing code. OK for this level of course since focused on power query.

User Image
andrew.anderson

good course except that the presenter's screen was blurry and I couldn't see clearly

User Image
mat.fisher

Erik should do more courses. Very clearly explained.

User Image
ara_toroyan

great overview. educational Bruce obviously speaks from experience.

User Image
johaine.thomas-miranjie

Presentation was simple and clear. Easy to follow and understand. Useful for all levels of management.

User Image
craig.scanlon

Much prefer video presentations. Case facts are much more obvious than typical fraud cases. CPA should never practice again demonstrating no knowledge and/or interest in identifying basis of fair financial presentation or uncovering significant issues with client financials.

User Image
eric.oosta

Good review course. Fairly simple accounting concepts.

User Image
laurence.gutcher

The presenter lacks tone and speaks far too slowly to remain engaged. The presenter also reads the slides, providing very little additional insight.

User Image
cpe4me.hilbert

Great presentation ideas that everyone presenting should apply. Be sure to save the pdf of Blair Cook's lesson so you can refresh and hone your skills for your next presentation.

User Image
michael.robertson

The speed of the presenter when talking was way too fast. We were learning about presenting to non financial managers and I could not keep up with the flow of information. Way too fast and way too much.

User Image
nbtessers

The course was easy to read and understand which lead to passing the final exam.

User Image
chgrimes

Good discussion on recognizing revenue under the new revenue standard.

User Image
kirit.kapadia

Good insight in personalities and leadership. Excellent explanations of human behavior

User Image

A very relevant course to a person moving into finance executive positions.

User Image
erika.phillips

Trainer was mostly reading from slides, didn't offer multiple examples.

User Image
tonia.mathew

The overlap of information on the slides makes it hard for reference purposes.

User Image
mondania.drummond

Too simple. I learned this as a sophomore in college - not necessary once you are a CPA.

User Image
sheila.esposo

This is a very good course. It lays the foundation on becoming an inspirational leader.

User Image
binita.thakker

Excellent course and helpful in many ways. Can there be another course from this instructor on how to handle Q&A when presenting financial information?

User Image

very importnat program coz, it gives you the tools to improve and get the rigth way to intriduce yourself with succes, and this is what we need in this business race

User Image
melissa.gruner

There are no slides for this series that are needed for documentation purposes.

User Image
shirley.bailey

Comprehensive overview with detailed steps to a good fraud mitigation program. Instructor laid out what was to be covered and then covered it.

User Image
michael.o'malley

Difficult to follow instructor as mutliple screen shots are applied to each slide in the presentation

User Image
brendan.byrnside

Good overview of models and high level theories, but would have liked to see some of the examples actually done in Excel or another tool.

User Image
jbrain

Well presented, recommended.Well presented, recommended.Well presented, recommended.

User Image
declanharte

If I could have given 6 stars, it mightn't have been enough. He provided a very practical roadway to finance excellence. Great enthusiastic and knowledgeable presenter.

User Image
jordann.hoo

Slides are brief and simple to read, the presenter does talk straight to the point and make it easier to absorb.

User Image
diane.suznovich

It seemed that slides were not in order. For example, the review of the first question was not presented until the final section. Also, 120/240 equals 50% not 240/120, which equals 2, as shown on the slides.

User Image
bell3179
