Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) have become one of the most widely adopted performance management frameworks in organizations ranging from technology startups to global enterprises. Yet many OKR initiatives fail to deliver sustainable results because leaders focus on the mechanics of goal setting while overlooking the leadership behaviors required to create accountability, alignment, engagement, and execution.
This course provides managers, HR professionals, team leaders, project managers, and executives with a practical leadership framework for implementing OKRs successfully. Participants will learn how effective leaders use OKRs to create clarity, align priorities, improve accountability, foster collaboration, and drive measurable business outcomes. The course moves beyond theory and explores how leadership behaviors influence OKR success at the individual, team, and organizational levels.
I coined the phrase “OKR Leadership” when clients asked for more details. Years of consulting engagements led to my book, Objectives and Key Results (OKR) Leadership; How to Apply Silicon Valley’s secret Sauce to your Career, Team, or Organization (2019).
Drawing upon my leadership research, organizational development principles, coaching practices, and my real-world implementation examples, participants will learn how to design meaningful Objectives, create measurable Key Results, conduct productive OKR check-ins, and build a culture of accountability without creating fear or micromanagement.
Whether your organization is launching OKRs for the first time or struggling to achieve consistent execution, this course provides practical tools and leadership practices that can be implemented immediately.
Organizations continue adopting OKRs but often lack practical leadership guidance beyond technology-sector examples. This course fills that gap by focusing on the human side of execution—leadership, coaching, communication, trust, and accountability.
