Honestly, I got more out of watching Ted Talks and YouTube videos ...

I especially appreciated the David Foster Wallace commencement speech at the end.

On often overlooked topic for those in the non-IT/cybersecurity sector. Great overview on important topics on handling and preventing security threats.

This course does not provide reference slides. It is also outdated with most information based on 2017-2018 tax years. Lastly, the final exam is riddled with typos, which makes the questions confusing.

I thought Erik did a good job of covering the basics of the statement of cash flows in a short amount of time, but I wish that the final exam had been a better test of the viewer's knowledge. The questions were very basic and I would've much preferred being given a balance sheet/income statement and forced to construct a statement of cash flows that way. Still, I thought the instruction throughout was clear and the layout of the course made sense.

Excellent course for ratio analysis, very well presented

Comprehensive overview with detailed steps to a good fraud mitigation program. Instructor laid out what was to be covered and then covered it.

Good job logically laying this out. The use of video to demonstrate the technique was excellent. The instructor would be easier to listen to if he didn't end every sentance with "right?"

If I could have given 6 stars, it mightn't have been enough. He provided a very practical roadway to finance excellence. Great enthusiastic and knowledgeable presenter.

Basic tips but useful

This course provided a basic presentation of the closing process and journal entries. The instructor showed clear examples of how to close out the financial statements and the reasons you make the entries. Nice beginner course.

Great course. My favorite part was having the first 4 steps of the change management process described as "thawing the organization for change". Lots of practical ideas for how to improve the close process. This course would benefit finance leaders, managers, process owners, and change managers.

One of the best Illumeo classes I've taken.

The video is outdated should follow the format of some of the more recent excel courses that have been uploaded to illumeo. Slides for a video is not very effective and hard to follow. The live feed of where the instructor's cursor was from other videos is much more effective.

Barry needs more energy. What he says is really interesting. But his monotone presentation even had him yawning (I actually heard him yawn twice). The exam (CPE for me) was unpleasant as well. Maybe that was the intent.

The quiz and final exam were not really related to the course material, but the questions weren't that difficult if you know how Excel works. This is graded as a beginner course so I almost skipped it. I am glad I took the course. While I knew a lot of the material, I like the two chapters on workbook organization very much and realized afterward that I could improve a few Excel habits like keeping data and reports on separate worksheets religiously.

Good intro to Excel/refresher of some Excel basics. Lot of it was pretty self-explanatory, but there is probably a thing or two that everyone can pick up from this course. Recommend for everyone open to learning some basic best practices for using Excel.

A good refresher for Vlookup, however, The IFNA Function module seems to have completely repeated itself and is twice as long as the information actually is.

I liked how detailed the course was. By providing examples that we could walk through, it made it a lot easier to understand the excel training I was learning. However, I felt the walk-through did move a little fast and at times I felt myself constantly having to pause and back up to make sure I was getting everything!

I had no prior knowledge of Quickbooks but the course was still easy to follow

This is a pretty solid course to introduce you to Buy vs. Lease analysis and the different aspects to consider when doing so. This is something I am hoping to implement in our company to help with management decisions.
