Blockchain for Business Process Reengineering and Competitive Advantage 1 CPE

While blockchain can be used to create new services and lines of business, most business applications leverage blockchain to improve business processes like supply chain operations. Most business blockchain projects are fundamentally business process redesign or reengineering.

This lesson examines how blockchain is a valuable tool for improving business processes.  An overview of business process reengineer basics and value chain analysis is provided. Examples of blockchain applications that have been launched to improve and reengineer business processes are shown.

The course also shows how blockchain is increasingly being used as a means of achieving competitive advantage. Fundamentals of competitive advantage and competitive strategy are covered, followed by a case study on a blockchain use case to dramatically improve a major business process and competitive reactions to this new blockchain based service.

Prerequisites

No advanced preparation or prerequisites are required for this course, but completing the Illumeo courses “Understanding blockchain technology and its capabilities”, “Private, Permissioned Blockchains”, “Blockchain Use in Supply Chains and Systems Integration”, and “Blockchain Application” beforehand is highly recommended.
