A very interesting read with a good summary of how fraud was committed.

User Image
gillian.burdge

I love the topic because it's relevant to the current time and it's not something I'd been trained on before regardless of the fact that I've been working remotely part of the time over the last 4+ years. I think that in order for remote work to be successful it's important to consider many of the things covered in this training. The training opened my eyes to all of the opportunities out there that will help me improve my remote work experience. I didn't like that so many website were covered without going into detail about some of them. It felt a little overwhelming. Also I'm interested in learning more about the best ones and details about what they can do. It surprised me that there were so many tools available. Anyone working remotely or considering remote work would get the most from this course.

I appreciate how the video covered "how to make it happen" but think even more detailed examples would have been helpful. It's good to hear "here are things that should be done" but everyone approaches these with their own (limited) experience so seeing an example of what works well would have made the course even more usable.

User Image
bobby.bacasen

Very informative course. Practical application and easy to follow.

User Image
rzuffanelli@google.com

The presentation was great but I'm wondering why some of the final exam questions were specific to ASC 605 (and not just what has changed from it) when that guidance has been superseded.

User Image
aarakawa

Great tools for Excel 365, even though I don't have, will look into getting it.

User Image
xiang.mar

Cybersecurity Program and Roles is a great course with in depth explanation and discussion.

User Image
stephen.sylvester

In just two hours, this course will allow accounting and finance professionals to write significantly better. The first part of the course shines. As a professional writer, it provided a useful summary of business writing principles. Most professionals will learn new information that they can instantly apply to improve their writing. While the second part also provided critical information, it felt much less content-dense than the first part. This section only needed half the time allotted. Overall, an excellent course and a productive use of time.

User Image
ricardo.de_alba

User Image
jaclyn.johnson

This is a great course for understanding the various components of the Balance Sheet!

User Image
athuener

great materials that were easy to follow and understand.

User Image
catherine.madrid

* Content was relevant, but in some instances more attenuated to the core topic of maturing an ERM function. * Disproportionate amount of time on various examples (e.g., FCPA, tax regulation, SEC and gatekeepers, historical/contextual backdrop) and survey results versus the 3 stages themselves (approx. last 15 min.), along with practices, tools and insights.

User Image
jholiday

This instructor courses are always very helpful and are well thought out. I always look for her courses on-line as I always learn something new and interesting from her classes.

User Image
howard.tong

The topics in this course were presented well. This was a good overview of how Topic 606 applies to computer software companies.

User Image
amarotta

I liked the case study examples. Otherwise the material is very dry.

User Image
bridget.alston

Good class overall. There are many complex topics covered in a short period of time, I had to watch a few of the topics several times to grasp concepts.

User Image
mlanda

Some of the questions are improperly written and need to be reviewed. Specifically, the insinuation that any accounting event happens when transactions are invoiced (there is not accounting transaction upon sending or receiving an invoice; the event is only when services are rendered). A few other nits as well. Overall point - clean up the questions so that they pass muster for a public company accounting environment and not a small, private company Quick Books environment. Best for students to learn the right way rather than convenient short-cuts that they won't encounter in a real world SOX environment.

User Image
nicole.patino

This has been one of my favorite courses in Illumeo. Good facts presented in an easy to follow manor. Future session that i would love to see is on PFIC for Americans wanting to tax plan for retirement while living overseas. thanks for the great information!

User Image
steven.wang

The course has no insight but just reading off the slides word for word.

User Image
shawn.fernandez

I liked how all the course materials were provided so we could follow along, While the instructor was mainly reading the slides, his tone and manner in which he spoke kept me interested and engaged. There were several points at which I could review my knowledge of the material. Any CPA Licensee looking to renew their license and fulfill the Board-Approved Regulatory Review requirement will benefit from this course. I'm hoping that Illumeo will add more courses taught by this instructor in the future!

User Image
npatel

It would have been helpful to have the slides as a handout. There was a lot of good information covered in this course and it would have been great to have the handouts for future reference.

User Image
jay.bineau

I liked the final exam format of allowing you to slowly find 90%

User Image
michael.deleon

Everything is making sense but I guess what I'm struggling with is how to identify the "differences" between ASC 606 vs previous version. I felt like all the things that you said existed before. I was wondering if there is a summary/table available where I can clearly see the difference in transaction treatment between ASC 606 and the old version.

User Image
rrees

Would appreciate more examples in the presentation - to cover more specific real life transactions. Or, more working through the math alongside IRS definitions/precidents and real deal terms. A working excel model, such as provided for other classes covering cash flow budgeting, might help as well. For one who is interested in the topic but has not handled a transaction in real life, more examples might help bridge gaps in terminology as well--had to research triple net leases offline for example, so my time to finish the course to well over the estimate. Thank you for the great presentation and valuable knowledge!!

User Image
tangjun@google.com

I really like Jennifer's class that has detail contents in her presentation. The material is very helpful.

User Image
ddaniel

This course is a comprehensive overview of the guidance with helpful slides and examples.

User Image
jgiakouminakis

The slides and videos was just basically reading the regulations to us. It would have been just as effective to have this training be "read the regulations, then take the exam".

User Image
jbeckman

This course helped me strengthen my understanding of IA fundamentals.

User Image
scott.lantz

I am a little surprised at how poorly this course is taught. It is a whole lot of information jammed into excessively long discussions and readings. There should be a lot more examples.

User Image
ccampanella

The course was quick and simple. It allowed you to quickly understand the required information.

User Image
carolynsucha

class was easy to follow and very insightful for earning CPE!

User Image
rodgie.vue

Great content! This is a decent crash course that covered a variety of accounting topics for external reporting.

User Image
christrinh

Course is acceptable. Videos can be watched in the background to qualify for credit. Quiz is 10 questions, and the information is difficult to search for to identify correct answers.

User Image
marisol.diaz

The material was well organized and easy to understand. this is a great way of completing credits needed for CPE.

User Image
seiko.kussman

useful information that we can actually apply in the business

User Image
miyoung.cogswell

Content was fine but his frequent typo during the lecture was distracting.

User Image
nlwatanabe

Material was sufficient, however I think the delivery was dry and difficult to stay engaged as presented read slides.

User Image
alan_willardson

Great course, was easy to follow and understand, with good examples.

User Image
minakshi.gopalakrishnan

I like the material a lot. It gives a brief summary of SOX and its significance in a very concise manner. This is very brief introduction to anyone who wants the first level information on SOX compliance before going into a indepth understanding.

User Image
daniel.barakat

great instructor. Quite a bit of the material is out of date though with the new tax law.

User Image
abilloo

Very well spoken and concise summary of the major updates

User Image

The information is very dry as the presenter pretty much read word for word on the slide deck.

User Image
josue.sanchez

Great course! I enjoyed that this provided an overall review of accounting and I actually learned a new way of doing things.

User Image
ahampton_1

This course was informative and will be useful in my day to day work.

User Image
jims

Course was a great primer on understanding exempt status

User Image
kim.loanzon

I felt like the final exam was too easy and the wrong answers were very obvious. Though it was good for me/my CPE credits, I don't think its an effective way to evaluate whether or not I understood the materials.

User Image
suet_wai_yukie.li

good link between history in the US and why ethics has become such a prominent topic

User Image
tina.atalig

This course was efficient and covered the main objectives of ethics review course required to renew CPA license in California every 2 years. I would take this course again when I need to renew again.

User Image
bleip

This was a good but examination of ethics starting with various scandals and ethics violations to COSO standards to the best practice policies in creating an ethical culture from the top down at a company.

User Image
ling.zhang

Lynn is one of the best instructors and she did it again in this training. Throughout and provide students with a great overview of COGS 2013.

User Image
surepaul

would have loved more examples especially on how fair value assessment.

User Image
rhonda.woerner

I found this course to be very well presented with clear action items that I am excited to start implementing!

User Image
alex.baik

The material was helpful, however, the instructor was reading from the slides for the entirety of the course.

User Image
mmackanic

This class needs dramatic improvement. The class is simply a reading of the course materials in a monotone voice. There is no captivating element in it. It is challenging to learn from a class presented in this manner.

User Image
deugenio

There is no correct answer for question #3. Can you double check this?

User Image
angan

This is an excellent starter course to get anyone who is interested in the new revenue recognition standards, ASC 606, familiar with the new requirements. It breaks down the 5 step model and explains what is required for each step.
