Recent research released by Microsoft shows that 80% of Excel users have yet to use pivot tables. In this presentation Excel expert David H. Ringstrom, CPA, covers the basics of creating and using Excel pivot tables. You'll quickly be able to instantly summarize lists of data into meaningful reports with just a few clicks of your mouse. As with many aspects of Excel, pivot tables have several nuances that can frustrate new users, so David will be sure to bring these to your attention so that you can use the feature effectively. David demonstrates every technique at least twice: first, on a PowerPoint slide with numbered steps, and second, in Excel 2016. He draws your attention to any differences in Excel 2013, 2010, or 2007 during the presentation as well as in his detailed handouts. David also provides an Excel workbook that includes most of the examples he uses during the webcast.
Topics covered:
- Contrasting sorting data within worksheets to the nuances of sorting data within pivot tables.
- Repositioning or removing subtotals within pivot tables.
- Adding fields to a blank pivot table to create instant reports.
- Filtering pivot table data based on a new dimension by using the Report Filter command.
- Avoiding the dreaded PivotTable Field Name Already Exists error prompt.
- Drilling down into the details behind any amount within a pivot table with just a double-click.
- Distinguishing the differences among pivot table-related menus in Excel 2013 and later versus older versions of Excel.
- Adding fields to a blank pivot table to create instant reports.
- Determining which refresh commands in Excel update a single pivot table versus all pivot tables in a workbook.
- Filtering pivot table data based on a new dimension by using the Report Filter command.
- Determining which refresh commands in Excel update a single pivot table versus all pivot tables in a workbook.
- Resetting all filters at once within a pivot table by way of the Clear Filters command.
This course is Part 1 of a 3 Part Series: Part 2: Excel Efficiency: Intermediate Pivot Tables Part 3: Excel Efficiency: Advanced Pivot Tables

(584 rating)Good course and review. A lot of information but good "broad" overview of materials.
I really like the way this instructor presents the material in his courses. This course offers a fresh perspective of the emotions and thought processes that drive financial decision making. Highly recommend!
Oh so many excel tricks. Thanks for this presentation. Will definitely be able to use some of these functions.
The presenter keeps a quick pace for this interesting subject and has a bullet point list on screen to make it easy to go back and find any part of the presentation.
Good refresher course that could benefit all from goal setting to delegation.
The course met requirements for continuing professional education
I haven't worked for a public company so this was a helpful review.
Jeff's technique is very well done and easy to follow. It is a great review and provides good examples that can be used day-to-day. Great Job!
This was a good review of the Control Environment. It provided great explanations and examples.
Great course - would highly recommend for anyone interested in topic.
The course did a nice job and explained important, relevant information in a manageable and easy-to- digest manner.
The examples would be better if written out. It is hard to catch by just listening.
This class gets into the details of short-term rentals. There was more to it than initially thought.
This course was pretty straightforward and easy to follow. This was the first text-based course Ive done. The test questions corresponded well to the text.
Informative course, very well organized and presented.
This is really a refresher course where Lenny reviews prior courses but he puts it all together, showing how various features can be utilized to build a robust dashboard.
I've been using pivot tables for years and still picked up a few helpful hints in this lesson. This is a very useful session for any user.
there was an extensive amount of material to learn and understand. Maybe do more explanations and less amount of concepts.
Detailed explanations of accounts payable control concepts and procedures. The text-book is easy to follow. I can apply some of the internal controls to work.
This was an excellent course and I felt like it provided a guidebook for necessary courses of action and reminders for those trying to ascend in his/her careers.
Great review of budgeting topics with some new information I hadn't heard of. Will refer to this content again.
Great course. Went by quickly and had a lot of useful information.
Good course for an overview to forensic accounting and document review. Lynn Fountain is always a good facilitator.
This was a helpful review. Thank you for the informational resources.

It was packed with detailed information with great structure!
Manufacturing overhead refers to indirect costs incurred in the production process that cannot be directly attributed to specific products. These costs include expenses such as factory rent, utilities, equipment maintenance, depreciation, supervision, and administrative costs.
Very helpful course as I WAS a former bullet queen.
Good Overview of RR. I would recommend it for someone who wants a good general overview of the standard. The slides are relevant and to the point.
Interesting course with great Cases to add understanding. Great presentation.
Very clear explanations and examples of Ethics vs Morality vs the Law. Also, how we operate within each. Lynn gave a thorough and thoughtful presentation. I always enjoy and learn from her training.
Good course. Informative. Well=paced. The instructor kept the course entertaining, while infoI like informative.
Good overview of operational risk. Excellent refresher course for the high-level topics.
my score was 73% , this is not good enough, I need to study more.
This was an excellent overview of the budget process in review. It is not a detailed budget process but it is sufficient to outline the major points.
Ethical issues are sometimes downrated, what is not correct. Great presentation.
Well laid out and helpful. Gives a good starting point for understanding and manipulating pivot tables.
I like to read the slide decks in the pdf format. The pdfs for this course were not sufficient to learn the content.
I really enjoyed this course. I think the length was appropriate, appreciated the variety of cases, and the instructor did a great job.
Overall it's a good course. Recommended. Thank you............................................................................................................................
Always a great review process when evaluating the impact of ASC 606. This training provided concise advice on how to implement 606.
This was a deep dive and very informative review of Revenue Recognition & Leasing. I went through this process back when it was required and it was a great review of the new requirements.
good course no more opinion... good course no more opinion... good course no more opinion...
A very interesting read with a good summary of how fraud was committed.
Good deep dive on a complex topic...................
Good discussion but I don't think the answer for the first review question is correct.
I love the topic because it's relevant to the current time and it's not something I'd been trained on before regardless of the fact that I've been working remotely part of the time over the last 4+ years. I think that in order for remote work to be successful it's important to consider many of the things covered in this training. The training opened my eyes to all of the opportunities out there that will help me improve my remote work experience. I didn't like that so many website were covered without going into detail about some of them. It felt a little overwhelming. Also I'm interested in learning more about the best ones and details about what they can do. It surprised me that there were so many tools available. Anyone working remotely or considering remote work would get the most from this course.
The course was good. I learned a few tricks about Pivot Tables.
2 Exam questions are incorrectly worded/graded and should be revised.
Well explained and supported with real world examples.
I thought the course and instructor were very good. With all the material to test on, I thought it was unfair to have 2 out of the 5 questions calculating PV when this course never showed how PV was calculated.
Rob does an outstanding job of effectively teaching the Key Performance Indicators and KPI Dashboards. The course was well-structured, providing a comprehensive understanding of KPIs and their critical role in measuring and driving business performance. The content was insightful and easy to follow, with a perfect blend of theory and practical examples. The section on creating KPI dashboards was particularly valuable, offering hands-on guidance on designing and implementing effective dashboards that provide real-time insights into business performance. The instructor was knowledgeable and engaging, making complex concepts accessible and relevant. The interactive elements and practical exercises helped reinforce the learning and provided me with the confidence to apply these concepts to my own work. Overall, this course is a must for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of KPIs and enhance their ability to track and manage performance effectively. I highly recommend it!
perfect course to learn usefull fuctions within excel to help manage data and analysis.
Materials were well put together and comprehensive coverage of each topic was provided.
Informative course to make sure leaders are modeling ethical behavior with their teams.
It is a great course. However, needs to be updated as the statistics in Report to the Nations can vary at times.
Well written and presented. Couldn't find the answer key for the mini-quizzes though.
This a very comprehensive training. It would be nice to get a presentation on this training because the reading is just too much. But over all still have a very good examples and important topics are discuss and explained well.
A good overview of the new inflation reduction act of 2022. Another high level look at the major changes that have been made and how they apply.
Great refresher with good exercises and commentary
Good information in the course, but could use some updating.
I am a CPA that works in a publicly traded company and most of the ethics courses are firm based. I like the perspective on this course being non-firm.
This course had surprising tips. It is always good to be reminded what excel can do and surprising when I learn something I didn't know or get an idea I didn't think about. Ringstrom is always great at showing how to create efficiencies with Excel.
Excellent coverage of the issues, while keeping it simple.
This was a very thorough yet straightforward introduction to higher-level Excel concepts. The course will only give a basic understanding of using tools like Power Query and VBA Macros, so further courses should be explored to gain more proficiency in these areas.
Two great formulas that I use all the time! If an accountant does not know these formulas, this is a great webinar.
Great course and presentation! Instructor does an excellent job at explaining ratios and analysis so that it is easily followed.
Very high level view of the balance sheet, income statement, cash flow and notes. Good refresher course
What a fantastic course! This course was chock full of great tips and general ideas. Definitely a ton of "a ha" kind of moments and very helpful for those of us at the middle management level who would like to try to convince the Executive level that moving even at least to data mining would be helpful. Also, really appreciated the presenter's use of helpful visuals as well.
This was a good presentation on effective presentation techniques. Mr Cook did a great job
A great intro course into Excel, I would recommend to others.
Virginia ethics course, it's required for CPAs and this format works
Lynn did a good job covering The Controllers role and main job functions ? Requirements for job qualifications ? Where controllers spend theirtime ? The controllers changing role
Good course for reviewing purpose. The examples using in the course are useful.
Good speaker but nothing earth shattering in the content of the presentation.
This course moves fast but it is really good. Great to follow along in the Power BI app.
Good refresher course on how to use pivot tables. I like having a workbook to test with along with the lesson.
This text based course was very detailed and provided good examples of real world application
Great course on ethical and regulatory considerations for remote employees. This will interest you!
Clear, concise, and practical. Perfect for beginners!
Supplementary was a great summarization of all the items learned and then to see it in action was a great learning experience
Jeff was fun and easy to learn from. I really enjoyed this course and would recommend!
This course is a good summary of internal controls, the importance of which is growing as organizations, regulations and technology evolve and become more diverse.
Lynn Fountain's lessons are consistently thorough and give thought-provoking examples. I particularly appreciated that what to do and what not to do actions were presented with the different types of difficult personalities throughout this course.
I really enjoyed this webinar. It gave me a lot to think about with my own management style.
Great instructions were given. Truly helpful in my current job functions. I would highly recommend to others.
Mr. Ringstrom is an excellent instructor; I like that he goes through the PowerPoint and then shows it live in Excel. I will be back for more courses.
Question: What do we consider a Boss in this guide? Answer: A boss is anything that has a Legendary Action (be it hidden or visible). Question: Are these the only ways to deal with these bosses? Answer: There are countless ways to deal with bosses in this game. These are the strategies that I went with, prioritising safety, given that we only have a single life to work with. Question: I am having difficulties with these bosses. Answer: You are most likely not using the guide mentioned above and underleveled/geared. Question: Is this build capable of soloing every single Boss Fight in BG3? Answer: Yes. It's not the easiest build to do it with, but for me, it's the most fun. Question: There were some Legendary Actions changed in 6.0. Does this matter? Answer: Not at all. The changes were minor and are already accounted for. Question: The guide suggests skipping a Boss. Am I allowed to kill it anyway? Answer: Sure, go ahead but do it at your own risk. The reason why the note about the Boss is there is for your own safety. Some bosses are ruthless, especially against S
Keeping the course as a reference. I learned a great deal!
This course is very informative as to how Power BI can help you create visual reports.
Interesting class, but I felt like it was just assumed certain items were known. I have taken previous classes from the instructor and still struggled to complete the course
This course is more for someone that's more advanced that I am because it was so fast and I didn't have a workbook to follow. I was able to pick up and follow on a few things.
good course, a lot of good information provided verbally and not in slides.
The material is dense and detailed. Be prepared to read and reread to fully comprehend.
Course was helpful in providing basic fundamentals of financial statements. For introduction to the basic statements on a financial statement package
Thanks. I learned a lot. A lot of new knowledge makes me happy today. I like it very much. Some knowledges are not required by the CPA exams but are required by the practice. This a perfect lesson to make it up.
Pivot tables offer the advantage of quickly summarizing and analyzing large datasets, enabling users to easily visualize trends, patterns, and relationships within the data.
Detailed instruction by author. Refresher course still if you know Excel.
Interesting course. Presenter made it interesting informative. He was also able to laugh at himself, which made it entertaining.
A lot of this was review for me but the layout and structure of the course was great for anyone relatively new to excel.
This is a very interesting course that assists anyone in Accounts Payable to understand the depth of the role. The assessment is very challenging.
Very good instructor who goes through systematically the commands and their usage. The additional workbook helps so that you can practice the activities as you go.
Instructor was chewing gum while speaking, which was distracting. The course was otherwise helpful.
The instructor is very knowledgable and does a good job explaining then demonstrating the steps to complete a task. I think the review at the beginning of the class went into more detail than was necessary.
This course was informative and interesting. I learned a lot.
Instructor was easy to follow and understand. The course material was applicable to my every day tasks and had several takeaways.
I learned a lot, but the test questions were out in left field and there are no slides.
Another great course from David Ringstrom. I always learn a lot from his excel courses. I am glad to have learned about the xlookup function. I think it is something I will be using a lot.
Good information, but too much repetition of the same exact words in each section. More self promotion than I usually see in these courses.
Google is spelled incorrectly in one of the questions FYI
Love Blair's webinars! Definitely wish there were more available on Illumeo. He is one of my facotire presenters!
Good overview of the subject material. Covered all the major points.
The training was very informative and most of all I enjoyed the jokes.
great excel course, moves a bit quickly at times but the ability to stop and go back allows this to work. Great course.
Honestly, I got more out of watching Ted Talks and YouTube videos ...
useful modeling, good high level overview, minimum character requirement, minimum character requirement, minimum character requirement,
Well thought-out content and presentation. Periodic mis-spell and various fonts made it seem less professional and the course was prepared on the fly with heavy Covid-19/Zoom fatigue :)
The slides were great, but the final included questions that required referencing additional online material not within the course
This course was a good refresher. This course is ideal for people not as familiar with accounting. Thank you.
This is incredibly outdated. He is referencing Excel 2007.
Great overview for end of year, helpful for preparation and review of statements
I've always wanted to understand a little more about what forensic accounting involves, this was a good start.
Though I am not directly into cash flow analysis in my work, this lesson was an eye openiner for me.
This was a great course to introduce me to features of excel that I have never used to give me a great understanding of how they might be used in practical everyday applications of Excel.
I like the trick to think of at least 3 options or choices in deciding on solutions to a problem.
they didn't give clear examples on the courses and it was hard to navigate through it unless you go to search by yourself
David did good job explaining the basic uses of a Pivot Table and breaking things down in steps to make the process easy to understand. I'll use this knowledge in the future in creating Pivot Tables.
Materials need some improvement. They are just bullet points without any context. That's good for normal presentations, but won't be useful if trying to use as a guide later on when the information is not fresh in our minds.
Overall, a good course to learn about multiple lookup equations.
This is a high-level overview of information that all CPAs already know, but it's a great refresher. Highly recommend
Good introduction to the investing segment of the treasury function.
On often overlooked topic for those in the non-IT/cybersecurity sector. Great overview on important topics on handling and preventing security threats.
Presenter is easy to listen to but, the course needs real world examples - not just reading tax brackets.
Another great course - helps provide real-world examples to visualize ethical situations.
What I appreciated: The recap at the end is helpful to reinforce the most important concepts. The quizes are a nice touch because it tests your knowledge while you're watching the course. Areas of improvement: There is a lot of content in this short course, and it would be overwhelming for someone who has no experience in accounting. Additionally, I think it's much more helpful to learners to teach that Assets = Liabilities + Equity rather than Assets - Liabilities = Equity, so it reinforces the idea that Liabilities & Equity should have a credit balances. When going over the example for Lesson 2: Posting Entries (continued), it would be helpful to list the numbers we know before showing the correct entry.
In addition to macro recorder basics, I learned a couple of excel features! I appreciated the thorough explanations, common issues, and risks.
Nice introduction to budgeting principles and models to follow. Budgeting is such an important aspect of business especially for subsidiaries reporting to parent companies.
Great course covering many important concepts and history behind evolution of current accounting standards
Enjoyed Mr Wu's presentation. Look forward to next class.

The course provides great case examples of principle financial statements analysis and the purpose for the various ratios.
The course would be suitable for all people. I would like to suggest it to my co-workers and peers. Meanwhile, I really enjoy those cost-free seminars. Thank you, Illumeo!
A lot of useful information on basics of accounting.
This course was very easy to follow and well explained on how to use Excel functions and shortcuts.

This was a good course. The content was good. It contained all the critical elements.
Really great class for beginners and advanced users. Really enjoy David's excel classes. They are easy to follow and love the examples he uses throughout the course.
Great information that I will be able to use to help communicate and analyze data more effectively.
I really liked the format of this course. Easy to follow and learn from. Thank you for your time. The v lookups make a lot more sense to me now and I feel confident using Excel.
The instructor spoke a little slow for my taste. I had to speed up the video to help me follow along. Good course, though.
Too much repetition and not enough instruction on how outlook works.
This course is set up in great details. It is useful to both entrepreneurs as well as accountants.
This course provides some great information. The topics covered are very helpful as well.
Very basic overview - nice for those wanting to start to understand accounting and the basic financial statements.
Well structured overview of the course by instructor
Super clear instructions with excellent examples provided to work through.
I thought I understood pivot tables fairly well. Just found out how little I really knew!! Awesomely informative course; can't wait for the next level courses.
I liked how you had circles on the items you clicked on when demonstrating "vlookup", etc.
Content is well organized and goes beyond the surface level information to provide a detailed level of understanding.
I found the shortcuts to be helpful. the conditional formatting was really quick and didn't explain how the icon sets works. you can change the numbers and the symbols change - based on what criteria?
Excellent course for anyway that want to improve or develop a leadership role.
It was very hard to learn. It was like reading the ASC 718. I was hoping to get some examples or some other way of teaching.
The instructor was very well spoken and easy to follow. But who ever wrote the course exams did not proof read at all. Not only were there several typos, but several were missing key words to the question. Thankfully the answers listed make it relatively simple to figure out which one option is correct, but it came off a bit sloppy.
This was fascinating! Cryptocurrency always was a confusing concept to me, but Lynn did a great job of breaking it down in a way that was easily understandable.
its a great course with full of information! i find it useful for me to detect a fraud next time

been using pivot tables for years and still learned something new
Good material and overview of SAAS metrics. Sound was a little low could be increased but otherwise good
provided great insight into potential areas of travel concern.
Might be nice if there were more theory vs straight up calculations.
I liked the conversational style from the instructor versus just reading off the slides.
Very nice overview, the pitfall and remedies were very helpful.
Very informative course, would recommend to all states, not just Iowa.
David's courses are always great. Learned a great trick for getting the month number.
Thank you for including the example questions, I found them very helpful in understanding the course content.
The information provided in this course was presented well and provided a good overall understanding of the planning process of an audit. However, the exam itself needs to be proofread as there were several questions that were written so poorly as to make no sense of the question being asked.
Professor Wu - This is second course of yours that I am taking and I am amazed of the various tricks and tips you have illustrated on sumifs and pivot tables. And yet, I am considered to be a pivot table expert! Thank you, I will continue to practise and use them for better outcomes.
Informative and Engaging CPE Course, Highly Recommended
Nice course on Understanding Performance-Based Equity Awards. Would recommend.
Good overview, would love a follow-up course that dives even deeper on deal killers.
Material not specific enough in terms of definitions and concepts.
This is one of the worst classes I have taken. The lecture is obviously read off a script and not well done. The content of the slides is not in a great format. Finally the review and final exam have a bunch of questions that don't even make sense. Skip this.
Great! Thank you for another useful and interesting course. Awesome summary.
Great course with a solid overview. It reviews the material thoroughly and also has great best practices
Excellent speaker who is clear, concise, and gave relevant examples that supplemented the course theories.

Going through different scenarios could be helpful. But overall, the class was good and met the objectives, which included a refresher on Ethics.

Very comprehensive review of revenue recognition considerations. Will definitely be able to reference this in the future
This was a very informative course. high recommended A++++++
Excellent primer for internal control framework and necessity. Good use of examples in presentation.
Amazing to learn the competition between Vlookup and SUMIFS. The SUMIFS returns on both value and differ data type. It is great to use on daily payment report.

Easy to understand and clear. Applicable to everyday work.
I found that the instructor had a fun demeanor and provided excellent material that was not only informational but had checklists, action items that I can immediately put to use in my career.
This was a very nice discussion of the close the books process.
I would agree that the information provided was very good to know but just a lot to take in.
Very simple and effective. Learned so much that I took for granted. Your approach in using simple examples to focus on the feature and function is very practical.
Good overview of basic accounting concepts and the speaker is easy to listen to.
This is a very informative course for characteristics of successful people and why others do not live up to what they could have been.
The examples are very detailed, but if a simplified example could be shown, including the how the calculations are done, it would be very helpful.
I liked that after each sections, an example was given.
The professor explained the details of five stages of project management process clearly.
Excellent overview of the various financial statements. Thought the section on financial ratios was a great addition.
Great course - I highly recommend listening to the "This is Water" video. I found a 23 min version on you tube... wrapped this course up nicely!
Might be too much information in once course, but it is great stuff.
this class is great for California CPA, keep us complies with AICPA
In total, it was very informative & I appreciated the detailed explanations. However I could have done without the instructors introduction of all of his background. Also the summary on how this course compares to similar courses was not needed.

Very informative. The class provided the material in a clear and concise manner.

Well prepared and laid out. Flowed well from topic to topic.
Well presented, easy to follow, not dull. Informative and relevant.
The material regarding taxation of moving expense is outdated.

Great course that explains how to use email professionally in today's context.
A good basic review of journal entries and accruals!
Excellent course for helping refresh what most of us learned in Intermediate Accounting. Content is good and well delivered. My only complaint is the sound quality isn't great in a couple of the modules and should be redone.
Information presented will be very useful! It was presented in an easy to follow format. I learned several short-cuts to convert emails to tasks to calendar items. The tips provided relative to using the Notes section in Outlook will also be very helpful There is no doubt that I will be able to use the information provided in this course to better manage my time and and track my tasks. After taking this course, I am definitely going to follow it up with his course on Email management.
Very good explanations. Clear ans simple even for a non-native speaker!
Important subject nicely explained for understanding.
Instructor really explains thoroughly & provides wonderful & helpful supporting documents & materials for afterwards. It still takes me forever to complete, but it is a well planned out & conducted online learning video.
great course for those of us that live in California and are requited to take this course
Good overview of balance sheet items of companies, and their relationship to income statement, retained earning statement.
Good, easy to follow suggestions, and clear steps to take
Very informative, instructor was clear and concise.
Great Course! I learned so much. This was explained well and it was nice to have the spreadsheet to follow and practice with.
The topics were discussed with excellent examples and concisely.
Good advice to avoid disastrous presentations. I wish some of the people giving presentations to me had taken the course too.
good process close info and helpful for giving things to think about
Very informant course - contained a lot of good information. Course instructor very good with good examples.
A lot of information, valuable guidance to establishing structured models.
This was a good course on what it takes to be competitive in your career and how to navigate the career ladder. I would recommend this course.
Well presented and well explained. And he made it interesting as well!
A good course and easy to understand, organizations should focus on continous improvement.
Long course, but helpful. Excel is the defacto language for finance experts and I enjoyed touching up on my skillset!
I prefer courses with presentations and verbal explanations. But the content was informative.
Good and Mandatory Ethics course. With recent changes, it's good to stay informed!!!!!!!
Very comprehensive; great refresher course for me!
What I liked: This course offers a very comprehensive review of both accounting, financial analysis, and finance concepts. It gave me a good refresher on the accounting fundamentals, as well as taught me how to set up templates for financial forecasts (which is very useful). The review on debt vs equity financing is also helpful.
This course is a very basic but important guide in setting goals
I liked all of the examples, they were very easy to follow along with. The pace may be a bit fast for beginners but for me it was great.
I wanted to rate this course a 5 star. It was some of the best content I've ever seen and for the first time, I have a strong understanding of cryptocurrency and what is truly behind it/what it means. Fantastic content and explanation of the material without question. However, the exam was extremely frustrating---just too much, with too much detail and confusing alternative answers. I felt like I took a college final, not reinforced what I learned.
The best ethics course that I have taken. Thank you!
I liked this course as I found that it was very informative and a great refresher on all the many methods and ways in which fraud can occur and be prevented as well.
Overall a great reminder of how to be successful as we all continue to work from home more frequently
The examples were a bit dated. ITF; as an auditor I would never introduce test data tinto a live production environment and I have never worked in an environment that would allow.
Informative and easy to understand. Can't wait to use the new options!
Excellent materials and will make for good reference going forward.
Useful summary of project management - good information on quantitative ways to monitor progress.
It is a good course to gain an understanding of the Not for Profit entities. The instructor is clear and detailed.
Quick refresher course on the fundamentals of the BS. It did discuss the IS to discuss RE. Really great for CPE but not helpful if you are looking for further knowledge. This would be great to review before watching more advanced dives into specific accounts or principals.
This was the best ethics course I have taken. I really liked the case studies.
Good course it has some useful tips. My only issue is this course seems to be outdated (2014?) for the new functions of Outlook
Decent refresher course, plus you learn a few items to make excel easier.
Excellent - I picked up many tips on IF(ISNA, data valuation lists, match, index and choose.
This course was very helpful. I learned some neat tricks and tips for inputting data.
Great course. The discussion sections of the material were especially helpful.
Great class- one of the better ones! As someone who has a published book, I can attest to the importance of editing.
Good Info presented and time helping shortcuts. I knew most, but a couple new and all helpful
Excellent overview of covered material. Examples and support material were helpful in understanding each excel tip.
good information on critical information. The program materials were relevant and contributed to the achieving the objectives.
Provided fundamental basics only on payroll accounting
It was very interesting to get perspective from someone who has worked in both external and internal audit. This was a great refresher on what goes into consideration when issuing an audit opinion.
Great general overview of the new standard. Very informative.
The presentation was great but I'm wondering why some of the final exam questions were specific to ASC 605 (and not just what has changed from it) when that guidance has been superseded.
Very good information given in this course, and given in a way that was very informative, not too wordy, and easy to understand.
This course was informative and presented in a professional manner. Neil keeps the listener engaged by talking about real life scenarios. I thoroughly enjoyed this course and would recommend it. In particular the subject about deflecting is the most interesting, we all have employees that like to complain. I tend to ask people how their day is going if they start out by complaining.
Great introduction course! PLEASE REVIEW THE COURSE FOR THE NUMBER OF CPE CREDITS. SHOULD BE 2.5?
Clear and Concise course. Learned a lot about analyzing data.
Very well structured and contained all key details needed to understand construction accounting
Most useful course taken this year, loaded with practical applications and resources to add value to my financial presentations and discussions
I liked the information provided in the course. It is certainly very helpful for people coming from non-professional background to search through the court records
Excellent presentation about giving presentations! Learned a lot!
very refreshing materials. well summarized and laid out effectively
Though the material in this course was well thought out and presented, I found it distasteful and unpatriotic to include a former president, not just as an example of an amoral/immoral leader, but also the answer to an exam question. Keep your politics out of my professional learning materials...
Cybersecurity Program and Roles is a great course with in depth explanation and discussion.
In just two hours, this course will allow accounting and finance professionals to write significantly better. The first part of the course shines. As a professional writer, it provided a useful summary of business writing principles. Most professionals will learn new information that they can instantly apply to improve their writing. While the second part also provided critical information, it felt much less content-dense than the first part. This section only needed half the time allotted. Overall, an excellent course and a productive use of time.
Two exam questions were super confusing. Not well written. #2 and #4, other than that, was an excellent course
I really like this course and would recommend it to anyone who is stepping into or pursuing a leadership position.
Good review of concepts and provided valuation info
The presenter provides plenty of relevant insights on fraud evaluations in a very clear and concise manner
Helpful reminders to remain proficient with excel and stay away from more manual bad habits.
Great job reminding us that the financials are only the first step...i don't use ratios as i should. printed out the slides to remind me.
Treasury stock is hard! But this class helped break it down easily.
I loved the fact there was no instructor and I was able to work thru the material at my own pace with the excellent instructions and tools provided.
This course was a basic intro to ethics and ethical leadership.
This is a very comprehensive course for tax planning strategies for short-term rental properties.
I liked the overall content of the course. It should benefit all internal auditors regardless of organizational structure.
Very simple course, to be honest non interesting for me. I would expect more complicated material when read the description.
The scope of the exam was useful because it touched on all areas of financial accounting. It would also be beneficial to include payroll entries.
This course did a really nice job with individual case studies and footage of historical figures to illustrate the contrasts in leadership.
I have to admit that I gave up on watching the video within 20 minutes because of the background music...it's really annoying.
Interesting take on analyzing your audience. Really enjoyed the course.
I didn't feel like the questions about The TV Show or "Nerds" were appropriate to the material. "Nerd" tends to be perceived as a derogatory term and doesn't feel like it fits in with the concept of Emotional Intelligence.
I enjoyed this course as it discusses the importance and use of data analytics as it is the future of auditing.
Took this as a refresher. Just finished a finding development training and this lined up perfectly with what I learned during that training. Great extension to the knowledge base I already have!
I'd like to know more technical details of each of the computation.
I think Mr. Cook is an excellent presenter. Why aren't there more written / graphic / notated materials included with the CPE? More expensive CPE products generally include a PowerPoint. More important would be a transcript which can be very valuable for busy note-takers. I'm surprised these are not made available.
The instructor was very thorough on explaining xlookup and its functionality. Furthermore, he provided detailed examples on how to overcome the constraints of vlookup, hlookup, xlookup and other formulas.
A good financial leadership course that covers a lot of useful information and was based on experience that is relatable and relevant to many organizations.
Great addition to illumeo. Really helps keep up with the Ethics requirement in a timely manner.
She broke it down and made it much less overwhelming.
Instructor needs more enthusiasm and to have slides that are better organized to fit the screen.
I thought this course provided a good overview of the new guidance when compared to the old. It would be nice to have more examples to walk through.
Felt like the guy was reading from a book and in the last section the slides didn't line up with what he was saying
Great course. However, question 10 answer on final exam is incorrect.
The material was explained clearly, I was surprised how simple it was to understand the lesion. Anyone who processes accounts payable will benefit from this course.
Similar to David's other courses, instruction was clear and concise. Not only will this help build a solid budget, but a few neat shortcuts and formulas are presented as well.
Some good common sense ideas in this course, but it is primarily targeted for those with the authority to make a permanent change in not only month-end processes but also in the company's holistic approach to the accounting close
I found this second module to be more instructive/informational than the first with more actionable information.
This course was well developed and well presented. Good coverage of the subject.
High level overview which is good, but I would appreciate accounting courses that were more detail. Illumeo appears to be lacking in government accounting courses.
Great review of the financial statements for CPE credit. Great professor and lesson.
very helpful course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
instructor was clearly very knowledgeable, spoke quickly and used examples of how you would apply to real life situations-- a lot of material but all very useful.
Very straight-forward explaination which made the lecture easy to follow.
Good review course. This was a solid refresher for something I have been away from for some time.
now that I WFH full time because of the pandemic, this was SO helpful!
This was a really great course and needed at a time when company cultures are diminishing due to economic crisis.
This short course provided some great ideas and suggestions.
Very engaging speaker. He used inflection during the course and emphasized areas as he spoke. The topic kept me entertained, focus and excited to learn more.
This is essential, especially now in the COVID world.
It was great to review and/or learn anew these important topics.
Excellent recap of the 5 steps of RR and solid examples of their application to learn from. Recommend this course to solidify understanding of concepts.
Excellent advice and insights. I highly recommend for any finance/accounting leader.
I am really happy taking this course, I have really learned some new lessons.
I dislike the questions about the different versions of Excel. I don't think this is relevant to the learning objective.
Very helpful summary of many different metrics to evaluate the financial status of a company. As an analyst, this will be very helpful in practical application, and the background and reasoning behind each ratio was clear and insightful.
A very good course for both people new to blockchain and those who have a solid understanding already to help reinforce understanding
Served as a great refresher on the functionality of pivot tables. Would also be great for those that haven't used pivot tables previously. Instruction was thorough and clear.
Great course to help satisfy the Ethics CPE requirement
I remember this exam from the CBA when I first got my license and it was a killer. This exam was straight forward, was not tricky or sneaky to trip up applicants, and covered a wide range of topics that were relevant. Study the book topic locations and be able to find the answer rather than memorizing all the rules.
Clear, concise and fast moving. Great tips and shortcuts. I've been using Excel for years and still learned a few tricks.
Other illumeo presenters should take this course! Awesome!
This was a great course. The fraud triangle is very important to reiterate how easy it is for people to rationalize their bad deeds.
Overall a good course. I didn't agree with every recommendation but it was a different view point that was worth hearing. Easy to follow and the information stuck. Hope to take away a few nuggets and apply to the "difficult" people I have in my life.
It's confusing to have the ethics rules of several organizations interspersed throughout materials. The chapters don't clearly define which organization is being discussed in which chapter.
This was a great course, full of applicable tips and shortcuts!
This course provided a good high level overview of how to conduct a risk assessment for SOX.
Great basic course to provide a basic understanding of business combinations under topic 805. Would be better if it was not a text based course but an instructor led program.
This course does not provide reference slides. It is also outdated with most information based on 2017-2018 tax years. Lastly, the final exam is riddled with typos, which makes the questions confusing.
It was a great course. Though, there were too much information given in a short time. As the instructor said, it needs lots of practice and repetition to be more efficient.
This class was very informative, I like how they gave detailed examples to have a better understanding.
Provided a good basic background on what forensic accounting is and what a forensic accountant may be charged to do
Training audit tests on specific examples will always help you learn the material more accurately.
I very much enjoyed this course. I myself can get stuck in ruts in life and this just helped motivate me to set some goals for myself and to achieve them!
This is one of the most useful courses I have ever taken. Thank you for the helpful fixes to so many of the common problems we face in managing our inboxes.
Great information and very useful! I learned a lot of tips in planning.
Explanation/presentation was very conversational and provided a lot of insight based on real experience with the legislation.
This is a great course. I recently start doing budget forecast for my company. I can see a lot of the similarity between this course and actual real life work. This course definitely help me to improve my understanding and the concept behind my work. I also like the few tricks that Blair shares at the end of the course.
Introduction to basic excel features. Course topics explained by working through numerous examples. Time estimate on the low side. Very good course.
Great summary and support detail. Appreciated the quiz questions and various notes in preparation for the final exam at the end.
I wish I saw this training at my previous job. What a good, straightforward approach to managing the situation.
This is a great course for someone trying to improve their budget process.
This course is very easy to follow and the tip to get the budget template is great.
Did not like the slides the font was too big and did not flow. Material was ok.
Good class overall. There are many complex topics covered in a short period of time, I had to watch a few of the topics several times to grasp concepts.
Enjoyed the take away for me of the importance of a leader looking ahead to the future instead of focusing on what happened in the past.
Very good refresher! Must take it every few years. Very good coverage.
eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh ehe ehe he he hehehehehehe e
Useful and provided perspectives and examples that I hadn't previously encountered.
This course was a good overview of recent changes and may lead you to take other more detailed courses that deal with one of the topics presented here.
The instructor made is very easy to follow. I found the course informative for beginners. It was easy to digest
Sincerely one of the best training courses I've taken in a while. Great take away and presented in a way that lingers with the audience.
Great course in ethics of the CFO. Employees will only be as good as their management and this course emphasizes how the CFO can set the standard.
Excellent content. I would encourage the instructor to speak less monotone for a 5 star rating.
Recommended for anyone who needs a refresher on auditing or anyone who is about to go through an audit!
I really liked this course. There were great examples and the material was interesting. Very applicable for small to medium size businesses.
Would appreciate more examples in the presentation - to cover more specific real life transactions. Or, more working through the math alongside IRS definitions/precidents and real deal terms. A working excel model, such as provided for other classes covering cash flow budgeting, might help as well. For one who is interested in the topic but has not handled a transaction in real life, more examples might help bridge gaps in terminology as well--had to research triple net leases offline for example, so my time to finish the course to well over the estimate. Thank you for the great presentation and valuable knowledge!!
Very Organized and meticulous mode of instruction.
Fantastic description of the different sampling types, and review of sampling strategies.
This course is a comprehensive overview of the guidance with helpful slides and examples.
Really appreciate the sharing of the two macro coding, extremely useful!
This is a good overview and self-check but I thought it could be more concise.
Course provided a very thorough and easy to follow overview of basic accounting principles and concepts.
Great course. Stated prerequisite requirements were appropriate and sufficient. Program materials were relevant and contributed to the achievement of the learning objectives.
Interesting course, worth enrolling even though CPE credit not available!
Overall, this course was very thorough and easy to follow. I would suggest breaking the material up into different courses as the cumulative exam was quite lengthy.
I am a little surprised at how poorly this course is taught. It is a whole lot of information jammed into excessively long discussions and readings. There should be a lot more examples.
This course is 6 stars out of 5 - the best and most thought provoking I have taken on Illumeo. I really enjoyed the links to psychological literature, and the action-oriented strategies and recommendations to improve these Executive traits. Take this course!
Really enjoyed this course. Presenter was very knowledgable
The course overall is great! You even walk away with a few useful macros and definitely a better understanding of how to apply VBA to your everyday life.
Great tips for Excel! Instructor has a very energetic and entertaining style!
class was easy to follow and very insightful for earning CPE!
Good job. Thank you for the presentation. I appreciate it.
This was a great course. The speaker was engaging, and he presented an approach that is critically needed in today's Finance department. The course material was also very well done.
There needs to be an option to adjust playback speed for the videos.
The course is good but have to work through to get the concept.
I enjoyed the format of the class. Would have liked to see more references to the actual rules of professional conduct
A lot of detail and there are 64 questions in the final exam - make sure you take LOTS of notes.
Different type of class. Was more of a psychology class and a bit new age thinking then your standard corporate CE class.
A good course which comprehensively covered the new form. I did not understand question 1
Interesting tips but unrelated in application of what they do.
This is a good refresher course and can be used by corporate accountants to make sure they are maintaining proper documentation that will be required by the auditors so the process if more efficient.
Very useful as a practical guide and as a historical perspective (I was very involved with SOX work from the beginning until 2011, when my employer got bought by a European company).
needs a transcript of lectures. Test questions have no relation to final test.
Excellent way of presenting the course in an effective way
Was a good course but would recommend Taming Outlook over it.
I learned a ton in this class. It was thorough and entertaining.
The course is designed well, and provides the user helpful information to improve their workflow.
Good course content. The presenters kept the content moving and interesting. Knowledge is powerful.
This was one of the best courses I took - I really liked the fact that you could follow along with the instructor using the worksheets provided!
Duplication of efforts noted in having two separate teams to setup vendors or add/edit vendors.
Content was fine but his frequent typo during the lecture was distracting.
David documents his points very thoroughly. His notes can be used for reference later to reinforce his teaching. I highly recommend him as an instructor.
well designed course and good use of current day situations to make their points
The slides provided as a PDF were 90% blank. This makes the PDF useless as a reference guide for the future.
The course is great for refreshing the skills in Pivot Tables. It is very informative and detailed. The presenter discusses the topic in a step-by-step procedure making it very clear and easy to understand.
I agree with another review of the course i've seen. Class and information is great, however the questions involve too many "which is these is not" true types of questions which can add confusion to the reader.
This course is a good introduction to those that have never managed a project and also a good refresher if you have been a project manager.
Was a solid course in introducing basic shortcuts that are useful for excel users. The worksheet examples were comprehensive and helpful in practicing the shortcuts outlined in the course.
Excellent course lead by an effective instructor. Great content.
It was a good overview of the new lease accounting standard. Thank you.

The answers to the exam questions are not in the slides.
Written in a very understable way with all necessary information.
This was a good presentation. I liked the practical suggestions given on how to conduct effective feedback meetings. Thanks Erin.
Good and thorough course on accounting, it is a very good basic accounting class and was hoping for more technical that was there.
Very cool course! Many really useful things have been explained.
Excellent course. Lynn is one of my favorite authors here, she is very clear and easy to understand. Her webinars provide great examples and explanations. She is very knowledgable and provides useful information. The course covers important issues, and it gives a good base on how to approach ethics in the business environment.
Randall's approach is clear and logical to presenting numbers effectively.
This course was very helpful in understanding how Excel relates to queries.
I really enjoyed the energy and the information provided. I feel like I already know so much more!
The instructor was thorough and very easy to follow.
I like the examples given in this course, which are detailed, and very realistic.
Audio makes it more easier. Text while good for a busy professionals having audio will be easier to follow
Very good course showing many types of leadership styles and why it is important to not be just one type of leader.
Very good basic course in modeling without getting too caught up in Excel functions and shortcuts or accounting jargon.
The material is useful but the instructor is monotone, which makes it difficult to stay engaged.
The slides weren't very helpful, just added to the confusion by having all steps presented at once, with no natural flow for the eye to follow. Might want to look into how comic book panels are designed.
I thought the questions were less aligned to the information in the slide deck as they have been in other courses.
There were a lot of great tools on making your LinkedIn more effective.
This course provides a detailed materials on preventing and detecting fraud.
The answer spreadsheets were very helpful as a reference.
The presentation was great with great information.
Didn't feel like I was able to use the pivot table in my own examples
Especially appreciated the suggestions for feedback and meetings at the end of the presentation. Thanks Erin.
The course was interesting but could have been more organized and concise. The key concepts tested are spoken not listed on the slides.
Great course. Lots of useful features explained in detail.
This course was very well presented by Victoria and easy to follow. This course was very educational as I can relate to most categories in the Generational Melting Pot. My parents would have fallen into the baby boomer category or just before it. I was born during the Generation X category and can relate to and agree with many of the items discussed during the course. My kids would be considered in the iGens category - up and coming.
Most engaging course I've taken on this site. Instructor does very well holding your attention and keeping it interesting.
This course was difficult to follow for those without a background in data analytics. It would be nice to be able to watch the instructor perform the tasks.
Comprehensive, informative and well delivered course.
This course was informative and will be useful in my day to day work.
Good overview of financial forecasting methods. Would recommend for beginners.
It would be helpful to have screenshots or a video of the instructor working through the exercise.
Sussman is excellent. He was one of my MBA professors so I was excited to see him on this platform. If he's teaching a class, you want to take it.
Good course, sounded like the instructor was playing with the microphone most of the time.
Great course, learned about structuring big data and how to fit into spreadsheets.
The information was delivered in a clear and concise manner.
I really appreciate this course and its help in career growth and overall help in gaining knowledge in who we are, who we want to be and what our passions are.
Excellent overview about temporary differences, very useful examples and exercises
The course makes it seem like these changes would be simple when in reality this is a very high level overview.
Great advice! I only wish I would've seen this video sooner. I fell short on gathering all outside departments/groups together (my manager talked to them separately) and we didn't formally document current state (we only "sketched" the flow). All your steps were well thought out and descriptive. I can't wait to use these ideas.
Another excellent course by Jeff Lenning. So many helpful functions and tips. I just hope I can remember them all. I would have like to seen more examples.
I now know the power of the pivot table! Highly suggested for those who want to learn the basics on how to use and create a pivot table.
Very engaging. I enjoyed having the video and the slides, made it easier to pay attention!
This was a very good overview of the new lease accounting process with excellent examples.
This course is a great introduction for Macro novices like myself. Notes from this course will serve as valuable reference material as I move on to more Macro classes.
Jeff's enthusiasm kept me engaged for the whole course.
This was a frustrating exercise of listening to someone read regulations for 3 hours.
Good course, I would like to expand more and go through some sample leases to learn to read the lease language that way as well.
Very insightful. I'll keep an eye out for her other content.
I liked that the instructor went through the lessons on PowerPoint with lots of pictures, and then showed how to actually perform the task on excel after each lesson.
This course gave excellent tips and short cuts. Very easy to follow along with the instructor as well as the exercises.
Helpful information on those pesky error messages that we tend to live with rather than fix.
Good overview of the topic. May want to add how an organization forms a policy in more detail.
The course was short, simple and straight to the point.
The first portion was really basic, but the last portion was very helpful.
This course provides a good overall view of what composes ethics and what influences it within an organization
Course was very helpful. Quiz questions were not as aligned to Payroll accounting as they could have been.
very good points and presented with great clarity and enthusiasm.
Instructor was very knowledgeable and gave a good summary of changes for 2018.
I really liked it. I would hope to see more Examples in different industries, like healthcare on contract modifications.
I thought the presenter was very engaging and easy to understand. One of the best Excel tutorial videos I've ever seen!
One of the review questions says that repurchase rights for service providers apply only to unvested shares. What is it called when the company has the right to repurchase all the shares (whether vested or unvested)? that sounds like a repurchase right as well.
I highly recommend this course to anyone working in accounting. The class material is filled with lots of examples. Great class.
Case studies are very helpful for practical application of the standard.
I highly recommend this course. It was probably my most favorite course thus far. The presenter was well-spoken and impactful. His stories also help to keep you interested and wanting more.
The speakers talk a bit too fast at certain topic.
I really enjoyed this class. I used pivot tables everyday but he still showed me several tips and tricks that I hadn't used before. I really appreciated that he took the time to show how to perform the task multiple ways and even showed common mistakes and how to correct them. Definitely recommend this class!
It's a little look into the background of Accounts Payable. It was helpful to learn when liabilities is established.
Good discussion on recognizing revenue under the new revenue standard.
Good concepts, but he goes very fast when working in excel.
Once again a knowledge of the exam questions is dependent on the participants enrollment in other programs within this certification program. Useful information but not connection to final exam questions.
Up-to-date approach for CPE course mentioning about proper use of the title in social media. I also like the fact that this is not only focused to CPAs in public practice but to anybody who is maintaining the tile.
great course for definitions and basic understanding of forensic accounting
Thank you for this amazing insight! I cannot wait to get started creating a successful business plan.
Very good review on fundamentals of accounting/book keeping.
This was well detailed while providing very efficient timely lessons of the general topic.
Overall great webinar. It would be helpful to reduce the number of abbreviations in the slides though.
Very nice - I like the course and the image of the flat file...as it is probably similar to what a lot of people are seeing.
Content was clear and concise. Could improve by including practice exercises for users then reviewing methods / approaches to arrive at correct responses.
What you would expect for a foundation level course. The questions proved to be a nice refresher.
This lecture let me think allocation my times for working efficiently.
Dated content, should be removed. Thank you.. Thank you.. Thank you.. Thank you.. Thank you. 50 characters.
Great test for practicing payroll accounting principles.
There were some great shortcuts that will help to improve my workflow.
Course content was good and the materials provided were helpful.
This is a very useful course for CMAs. I would recommend CMAs to take it.
The course provided the required information quite effectively
Good overall intro to power query. But the VBA portion was just copying existing code. OK for this level of course since focused on power query.
it was a good pace and got me to think about things I hadn't considered before like how 90% of my time should be spent on communicating and how to tailor my communications to different levels
Thoroughly enjoyed the detailed analysis of excel functions and shortcuts. Excel is such an underutilized tool for data analytics.
great overview. educational Bruce obviously speaks from experience.
This is a great ethics class aimed at actually teaching ethics. No trickery or mind-binding questions to unnecessarily make this important requirement hard to understand.
This course gave me a view of LinkedIn that I did not previously have. I should take more advantage of LinkedIn in the future.
This course was efficient and covered the main objectives of ethics review course required to renew CPA license in California every 2 years. I would take this course again when I need to renew again.
Much prefer video presentations. Case facts are much more obvious than typical fraud cases. CPA should never practice again demonstrating no knowledge and/or interest in identifying basis of fair financial presentation or uncovering significant issues with client financials.
Good review course. Fairly simple accounting concepts.
Loved how this was all about the nuances in excel, made it more efficient and applicable
This course had enough detail to explain blockchains without getting too complex. He used good analogies to help explain the concepts.
It was an amazing experience. Many thanks for your efforts.
Great material, effectively presented and well organized.
The speed of the presenter when talking was way too fast. We were learning about presenting to non financial managers and I could not keep up with the flow of information. Way too fast and way too much.
Good discussion on recognizing revenue under the new revenue standard.
This course is outdated, based on 2016 tax law. It is completely irrelevant in 2018/2019. It needs to be updated.
Good insight in personalities and leadership. Excellent explanations of human behavior
Good course, working as accounts payable is always good to take this type of course.
Really liked the details (showing steps etc) in the slides
audio was not the best and made his accent even harder to understand. he was reading a script very poorly and not presenting / chatting with the listener.
Great overview of the tax law changes! I hope you do another class once a lot of the guidance is laid out better!
This was a good overview to understanding BI and offered basic tools to implement.
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor
The format for examples is helpful conceptually but difficult to read due to messy handwriting.
Trainer was mostly reading from slides, didn't offer multiple examples.
Could be broken in two smaller parts. Overall not bad but charting section should be separate. As to question on inserting pivot charts there are two correct answers - Insert tab and Analyze tab. I chose Analyze and was marked incorrect.
This class needs dramatic improvement. The class is simply a reading of the course materials in a monotone voice. There is no captivating element in it. It is challenging to learn from a class presented in this manner.
Exactly what I needed, added many of the missing pieces for me. I like the format, showing what to do then, doing it. My only gripe is that the exam has questions on charts when no charts were in the course material.
Appreciate the thorough review, especially the foray into graphics.
What I did not get from this course was comparing to different worksheets of data elements and trying to look for matches (comparing 2 different reports to validate that data agrees). Also, when the exam is finished and the passing grade has been received, it would be nice to see the questions again so we can see which ones may have been incorrect and going back and reviewing the data again.
There were many tips for older versions of excel, not applicable in my case.
Not terribly relevant now that Excel 2016 is available.
The course is excellent, it adds a different perspective in the function of the CAE as part of the company.
Great insight on how Lease Accounting will change under IFRS 16. And all the decisions that must be made in properly booking right of use asset and liabilities starting next year
The overlap of information on the slides makes it hard for reference purposes.
I found this presentation to be insightful as well as informative. I appreciated the presenters approach to the subject. She was able to present the information with a personal approach. She provided realistic tools for success instead of buzz words and trite "solutions".
It was a good course. I wish it would have gone into more with subtotaling as it relates to pivot tables. Never saw the need for a custom list but it was interesting to learn. My favorite part was learning the Alt = is the shortcut for SUM.
The speaker has provided very nice explanation with examples.
Lots of helpful tips & insights. Good ideas of different ways to deal with conflicts.
I liked the examples that were given and the content was good. there were many topics that are good for the beginner in the accounting field and a good refresher for those with experience.
great course for learning some of the other things Pivot Tables can do. Not just about summing and moving, but rather better ways to do calculations and learning best practices.
This course would be beneficial for consultants that work with small companies that do not have a finance department.
Helpful - quick easy pointer to make my pivot table use more efficient
Helpful intro - hard time hearing the audio at times.
This course was a thorough reminder of the ethical requirements of the CFO, as well as the general responsibilities of the role.
Course was very interesting! Its also very useful for further understanding.
Excellent course for ratio analysis, very well presented
This is an excellent starter course to get anyone who is interested in the new revenue recognition standards, ASC 606, familiar with the new requirements. It breaks down the 5 step model and explains what is required for each step.
There are no slides for this series that are needed for documentation purposes.
I'm a self-taught, no manual "trial and error" Excel user, who uses "intuition" and experience to create what I have to do. This often leads to long and convoluted steps to get to the final product. I learned a couple of features that basically cut those long convoluted steps to a step or two.
A very eye-opening orientation to various analytical models
More time should be allocated to this course if the individual is attempting to complete the exercises as part of their training.
Not a primer and if you already know how to get around the AICPA Professional Code of Conduct, you don't need this course. It just isn't very straightforward or clear; perhaps it could have benefited from more time allocated. Very hard to stay focused and follow.
The instructor gives me much to think about. There is so much in here that I think many aren't willing to say even though we know it to be true. There are many politics involved in the workplace. It is unfortunate, but reality, and he helps you to work through this unfortunate reality.
It was a clearly explained the topic and the financial impact of the changes
Liked that there were sample worksheets to follow the videos along with.
If I could have given 6 stars, it mightn't have been enough. He provided a very practical roadway to finance excellence. Great enthusiastic and knowledgeable presenter.
The text in the spreadsheet was too small to follow the instructor on a 17 inch monitor
nothing to add good course on financial information that is useful in conversation
It seemed that slides were not in order. For example, the review of the first question was not presented until the final section. Also, 120/240 equals 50% not 240/120, which equals 2, as shown on the slides.
Very thorough and valuable information. I noticed after I was part way into the course that the copyright mark is 2015 so I wonder what's different in 2017? I'll have to look into it....
I enjoyed the course. It helped me understand how to resolve workplace conflicts, and what to look for.
Simply the best instructor I have found on Illumeo. Extremely thorough, technical and practical.
Good overview of the process from beginning to end with sound advice along the way. Thank you.
great overview for non-sales tax experts. Great examples to support the rules.
Good course...nothing special just solid basic learning
This is a great course in terms of the material but everything felt rushed.
This has improve my excel knowledge tenfold. thank you for your well thought out plan and explanations.
this was an important course and included many relevant examples
Great class, wish you would slow down on showing where some of the functions live.
The training was well organized and was probably the best Ethics course i have taken.
Excellent instructor. Entertaining and very informative. Increase in understanding of sumifs.
Very good explanation of Pivot Tables. Easy to follow and understand.
I agree with the other reviewers that the exam focused too much on the actual result of a calculation of present value and not on the actual topic of lease accounting.
The instructor explains the concepts with relevant examples which makes it easy to understand and apply. The course is well structured and detailed to provide step by step procedure for creating RBIA approach.
Harder to understand than i thought with my pivot experience.
very helpful for understanding of rev rec new standards
overall this course was effective in providing a high-level overview of the new standard. Examples that were given were clear to understand and follow along.
Good topic.
Learned some very useful tips
Gives great examples
Good Information
Great course. Thanks!
like this class a lot
Great information on Pivot Table. I really felt like I learnt a lot of new tricks and I have been using Pivot table for four years.

Excellent summary of SEC reporting. Highly recommend to reinforce current understanding
Very concise and to the point information.
Very helpful Excel course!
very informative
Interesting real life cases.
Will help me be a more effective leader.
Very Good and Informative Refresher for Accounting Professionals.
Lots of great ideas for someone who is good at Excel but wants guidance on automated dashboard reporting.
Instructor is very animated - good basic overview/refresher.
The presentation is simple but very comprehensive.
Helpful excel tips for all versions of excel
I really enjoyed learning about the different ways to collect, merge and validate data. I thought is was very interesting and useful to know that there is an excel add-in where you can get data from the Federal Reserve (Fred) as well as data from the U.S. Census, and Google Trends.
it was very helpful
Great course in understanding the IT and Finance relationship.
I loved this course. I didn't realize how to use the SUMIFS function and I will definitely use it now. I need to practice right away before I forget how to use it!
I appreciated the statement that it could take 2 years to get comfortable being a new manager. It lays out a good timeframe to try and attain the good manager status and I don't stumble right out of the gate trying to be everything at once.
I like that these are actually recorded webinars and not just reading material.
Really great structure of what can sometimes become an emotionally charged conflict.
Some more error rectification technique may be included in this course.
Excellent and impressive presenter!
Provides techniques that I was not familiar with even thought I use pivot tables frequently
This was very informative. I have been having a hard time as the interviewer what are the expectations from the other side.
thanks, well done!
excellent course on a much needed topic
Excellent overview on what contracts are and key considerations when entering into one.
Excellent overview of the budget process. This was a quick review and refresher.
By repeating all the exercises and formulas, it is now easier to remember the formulas. Practical summary of how to remember the formula versus the "code" is helpful. Clear and concise.
very good
Great course! I really enjoyed it.
love the statistics - really good insights
Informative
ok
A great course for persons seeking that interview edge
A very interesting topic, another one they don't teach you in school.

helpful
Learned a lot on how to deal with difficult people.
Well presented.
It was helpful
very clear and concise
helpful
Great course. Provides valuable information about Ethics that can be of great assistance in my line of work
Great Course!
Typically I've resorted to using VLOOKUP however, after completing this course, can see the value in substituting SUMIFS or using a combination of the two.
Good basic overview of the closing process and related journal entries. Instructor is easy to understand and organized the course well. If you are looking for a more in-depth discussion of the close process I would recommend a different course.
Very clever way to show comparison of the 2 and gave great real-world examples of when you would use each. Going over examples a few times was a bit repetitive, but for beginners would be necessary. Overall Great
Good
Information was well presented. Length of coursework didn't exceed what was communicated.
A nice summary but really requires a lot more detail (and time) to prepare one for meeting the reporting demands of this issue.
This is a good high level review of why to do a balance sheet forecast.
Good information especially for someone new to accounting.
Solution for problems - if you can show via formulas with data input or in excel that would be very helpful
Would have been nice to have the Excel files used to follow along.
Quite informative
It's an interesting subject especially for young professionals. The exam was quite a challenge.
Excellent, great summary
I would have given a much higher rating if this course showed some actual examples, but there were none.
Some excellent tips in this course
Very helpful
good
It is a little challenging to listen to this presenter. She seems very repetitive. I also was discouraged that every time she referred to a leadership position, she used the term "he."
A lot of information and a step by step instruction. Very useful for anyone who has use for pivot tables.
It was very knowledgeable.
Great learning
Very informative.
Good overview of SEC Reporting
Great and informative course! Thanks
Good overview of 606.
Would have liked a little more detail around company provided food, cell phone, etc.
named references
liked the convenience; it was good information
Examples shared were very helpful
Constant audio changes gets a little distracting.
Lesson starts and ends very abruptly
the course was informative but each lesson ends very abruptly
Well organized and presented.
Good tips. Best take away was creating a chart that auto updates from a table including the title.
Good basic information
The PDF supporting materials are all the same. The 2010 does not show the correct 2010 commands, it is for a prior version of excel.
It would be helpful if there were review slides.
Very useful.
Excellent course
very good,supplements were very hepful
Good
The training made me understand more of the client situation and effective ways to communicate with the customers. To address their disputes/queries efficiently.
I liked that he gave specific rules and guidelines to making a PowerPoint. I think there is more I could learn in this department. The best tool I will take away from this webinar is the 8H Rule.
The class delivery was efficient and effective.
Very useful
Excellent refresher course.
Lots of information.
Good
I would like to know what I got right and wrong on the exam.
Excellent!
Good basic understanding of financial statements - I recommend for 'first time' investors or those without experience in accounting or finance. Presenter does not clearly enunciate her words at times, this can be distracting.
Good recap of cash flows
Very helpful
Great course and fun info (as fun as ethics for CPE can be).
Great course!
Would like to have seen examples calculations incorporated into the slide PDF supporting materials Also, beneficial to have Excel template of Recap of Sales Mix Calculation made available
Very knowledgeable instructor. Course was a good introduction to the types of equity.
Very comprehensive approach in a condensed session. Attachments and supporting documents were very helpful and a valuable tool to use in applying the concepts. Matt was very energetic and enthusiastic as an instructor.
This course covered some seemingly basic concepts that are huge time savers if you are unaware of them.
Great, thorough explanations and examples
Good course!
I appreciated that the course talked about CPAs in business not just in public accounting.
What about online identity theft companies? What do they do and are there worth the money? What are the steps to take if you have your identity stolen?
Very helpful. Learned many new techniques for building reports.
Easy to understand with lots of examples. Anyone with interest in finance.
Some helpful pointers in time management.
This is a very useful course! The tips and suggestions to make spreadsheets more readable and usable are huge. They seem like they should be obvious, but as I haven't used them in my existing spreadsheets - they aren't. Thanks!
Concise and easy to watch
I liked that I learned something
Good course but needs to be updated for 2015-2016 changes.
Easy to follow along. Good information -- all was relevant
More information on analytics to identify misuse.
This course provided a basic presentation of the closing process and journal entries. The instructor showed clear examples of how to close out the financial statements and the reasons you make the entries. Nice beginner course.
Clear descriptions from the presenter and follow-up examples answers the questions I had.
The topic was very well organized. It was concise and clear. I wish the presenter showed more energy in his voice. He seemed to drone on at times.
Great tips!
Great tips for making pivot tables of various kinds!
Fun and revelating
The training is easy to understand because jargon are limited by the trainer.
Great information!
People Management
The video is outdated should follow the format of some of the more recent excel courses that have been uploaded to illumeo. Slides for a video is not very effective and hard to follow. The live feed of where the instructor's cursor was from other videos is much more effective.
Great overview. Lost of information that I will use in selling ePayables and P cards at my organization.
Excellent course
Very good tutorial with good pacing and flow from one subject to another. More in depth than I thought it would be. The Powerpoint accompaniment is a bit busy though. Best to separate the blocks on more slides.
Enjoyed it.
Liked the comparing and contrasting with the multiple versions of Excel
Clear, well structured course, very informative
The course was worth sitting through. I had to listen to the lessons twice to grasp the concepts, and that helped with the final exams.
Good description of the audit and report
Great tips, love the instructor very clear explanantions and examples
Very detailed and easy to follow.
Excellent overview about risks and things to look into.
Enthusiastic and clear instruction. Some of the data tested in quiz was not covered during instruction.
David is great at teaching Excel courses.
Great job explaining the various chart of accounts.
Very informative information
Good!
Gets to the point and easy to understand.
Great course!
Did not like questions about Apple. Numbers not in front of me.
A bit dry but did have some useful material.
Excellent mini-course with lots of tips & techniques. It takes some of the mystery away from Pivot Tables.
It was a very good course
Spent too much time on simple functions like EOMonth (the worst function ever).
Very informative and well laid out
I liked the Subtotal and Skinny Row function
The explanation of the pivot table options that are buried in menus was very helpful.
We like the enthusiasm of the narrator. Last section went too fast (conditional formatting)
Good class, very useful
Some great tips.
great
Excellent tips for efficient use of email!
Great tips! Thank you!
Good material but monotone delivery makes it difficult to focus.
David does an excellent job of showing you useful tips in Excel. The slides are a little hard to follow as they have too much information on each one. The sound quality is up and down throughout the presentation.
Great material. Too fast to follow at times.
Thank you!! Really useful info. I have not used Match/Index before but now find a lot of ways to use them in my spreadsheet.
Blair Cook is awesome!
Great Course! Learned a lot.
It will be great to include all worksheets for all examples.
Excellent
Mr. Turner demonstrated a comprehensive budgeting solution in Excel which could work well if it is monitored and managed carefully.
I like the examples in excel and the explanation of the different versions of excel.
was able to easily follow the examples
Great overview, I found this very helpful being new to the payments business. Thank you for creating this!
I liked the simple style of presentation and the way the instructions are repeated and reinforced from presentation slide to excel workbook.
Very good course. I particularly appreciate the weight given to emphasizing change management practices and preparing the company for the change - too often this is missed and, as his metrics show, the outcomes are weak.
l like learn about this course and subject We will follow full courses for an intense love thank you very much
It would be better if the items were shown in motion (vs. the slide with numbers). Also the sound quality was a bit poor.
Very basic information. Good information for non-accountants
Thanks for the nice course The final test does not really give a picture on how well you learned during the course I think that the solutions should be provided after the test is passed
Provided some helpful tips that will help me work more efficiently. I'll be looking for a Pivot Graphs lesson next!
Another excellent course
I wish course should be little lengthly and cover more item related to Pivot table.
Very good class
Easy to follow.
Parts were very hard to hear.
don't need the static slide at beginning of each video. inconsistent volume within each video
The course was excellent. It met my expectations.
Excellent presentation of information; particularly for accounting professionals who have no background on this topic. Again, I would have liked to review the graded final exam to determine which question was answered incorrectly.
You will learn about how operating lines of credit works and what to watch out for. Very informative & reference material.
Excellent review material. Thoroughly explained and easily understood.
Really enjoyed the course. Covered the material well with the incorporation of examples.
Great information for someone looking to help their company develop an investment policy and manage the investment process.
Great overview of what to expect.
Great Course...
Great course. Too long for one hour of CPE credit, should be 1.5 hours.
Again - great tools for improving Excel skills. I will use these a lot!
This course was a great review as I haven't worked with these statements in a while
Great course and very relevant to email / org / management of time
Had a hard timing hearing this. It seemed as if the volume went in and out.
great course
Ask the instructor a question about this lesson
