I will comment on one aspect of the course in particular. The presenter recommended criminal background checks as a method to prevent fraud. He fails to address the issue that biases in the criminal justice system against racial minorities result in such checks having a disparate impact on those same minorities. He also does not address the fact that such checks will turn up information that is prejudicial but of questionable relevance for preventing fraud (for example, minor drug convictions or other minor violations of the law), which in turn will make it difficult for people with those convictions to move on from their pasts. Other than that, the course was good.

Great, simple explanation of how assets and liabilities affect operating cash flows as well as how othe transactions are accounted for in all sections.

Presenter is easy to listen to but, the course needs real world examples - not just reading tax brackets.

What I appreciated: The recap at the end is helpful to reinforce the most important concepts. The quizes are a nice touch because it tests your knowledge while you're watching the course. Areas of improvement: There is a lot of content in this short course, and it would be overwhelming for someone who has no experience in accounting. Additionally, I think it's much more helpful to learners to teach that Assets = Liabilities + Equity rather than Assets - Liabilities = Equity, so it reinforces the idea that Liabilities & Equity should have a credit balances. When going over the example for Lesson 2: Posting Entries (continued), it would be helpful to list the numbers we know before showing the correct entry.

This was a great overview/introduction to Power Query. Users with no exposure to the process will not be overwhelmed. Good supporting materials, but it would be nice to have access to the source files to make the practice more realistic. Overall highly recommended, especially to beginners.

This course was broad in scope, with very little connection from one topic to the next. In addition, while the instructor was knowledgeable, he didn't attempt to make much connection between the course and the topics usefulness to his intended audience.

This is a very good broad ranged discussion of the accounts payable vendor master processes and what should be considered.

Great lesson on a bunch of random tax strategies - some more well known and others much more detail specific. Very good, in-depth look at rental properties and personal residences in many possible forms. As for the exam, the home exclusion question's answer is incorrect. Technically the rule is 2 out of 5 years before the sale, so even if the property is rented out through 2022, that means that 2018-2019 it was personal use and then 2020-2022 was rented.

Having 3 different people jumping back and forth caused a lot of confusion and the material seemed to have gaps. Specifically betwen slide 22 & 23. At the beginning of slide 23 she says thank you for all of that insight....what insight? I didn't hear any insight from slide 22 as it seemed they skipped over half of that slide. The presentation was very choppy. I ended up stopping the presentation and just thumbing through the slides to get a passing exam. There are other really great courses on AI within Illumeo to explore

Good overview of a complicated topic. Most importantly helps you understand what to look for and where to look when an employee works in more than one state.

Great course for understanding how to read a balance sheet from a finance perspective. It teaches the importance of metrics (ROA, ROE, etc.). It was also great for teaching other important analyses such as SWOT, benchmarking, etc.

More than half the class was devoted discussing the economy. While this is interesting, it seems more of the class should have been devoted to the accounting updates and the ramifications of those items. Most of the information that we got regarding the updates was a laundry list of the items with no meaningful discussions of those items.

I am somebody that hopes and believes that crypto will be the future of payments and investing. The one thing I do not like is how scared people get when you mention the word crypto. People are also very misinformed a lot of times or just do not care to be informed. So my only critique would be the fact that the risks of cryptocurrencies are comparable to investing in stocks or holding cash in a bank account. Illegal acts have been happening since the dawn of man and cryptocurrency has a fraction of wrongdoing on its RAP sheet compared to cash and other financial tools. Just trying to make crypto seem less scary. Change is good.

Cybersecurity Program and Roles is a great course with in depth explanation and discussion.

In just two hours, this course will allow accounting and finance professionals to write significantly better. The first part of the course shines. As a professional writer, it provided a useful summary of business writing principles. Most professionals will learn new information that they can instantly apply to improve their writing. While the second part also provided critical information, it felt much less content-dense than the first part. This section only needed half the time allotted. Overall, an excellent course and a productive use of time.

I think Mr. Cook is an excellent presenter. Why aren't there more written / graphic / notated materials included with the CPE? More expensive CPE products generally include a PowerPoint. This was a very confusing one. I finally passed when I answered one question which seemed again what the material and I understood. It was question six. I disagree that it should be answer A. A going concern is considered when a company has issues about going a year from the opinion letter date.
